Hans Samios and I met several weeks ago to start outlining a way
to start back up. Due to my and Hans’ travel schedule, we haven’t
completed a plan for a kickoff. We were thinking of an open space technology
meeting format during the day. But getting facilities was at Intergraph
and DRS was tough if not impractical. Sorry to keep everyone in the dark.
I’ll touch bases with Hans to see if he has made any updates.
Thanks,
Jim

Matt,
I am
willing to help out in any way that I can. I didn’t hear anything back
and assumed that the interest had vanished. Let me know what you decide.

I have not heard anything further. Depending on dates and our classroom
availability I will be able to provide a classroom. I will be teaching
out of state most of July but will be available in August. We just
held a lunch event on Cyber Security and it is very difficult to
accomplish much in an hour. Depending on the proposed meeting agenda we
may want to consider holding the event after work as we did before. Let
me know what I can do to help.

All - did this every go
anywhere? I seem to recall a lunch discussion that was planned over a
month or so ago. Sorry I've been disconnected with the group lately - too
much going on at work and home!! Hope everyone is doing well.

Dan,
I would be
happy to come to Huntsville for a meeting. I should be able to get others from
Agile Birmingham as well. We can put together a case study on Scrum in the
“real world”.
I am in China
for the next week speaking at the Shanghai Scrum Gathering. Could we look at
doing something during the first week of May?

What are the chances of
helping get a meeting scheduled here in good ol' Huntsville Alabama - and
invite yalls to present?
I'd like to entice a
presentation on what REALLY is occurring out there.
Other than (I think) what
happened/happens at Intergraph and some select other local super-duper-
high-tech companies that truly have their stuff straight, and in general for
the general populace of pigs & chickens out in the real world, my
impression is the implementation of Agile is imperfect. Possibly on purpose.
So that is actually
perfect since we live in an imperfect world... But then how do we manage
imperfection using what we know about Agile techniques? I think that war
stories followed by a panel of Agile imperfectionists would do nicely to
express a variety of paths that may elude the novice Agile person. The point
being how to do AGILE/SCRUM/ XP type development with partial and imperfect
implementation. .. leading of course to a more perfect implementation over
time. Perhaps even there, based on success of Agility?
So can we get a meeting
and invite your "Braintrust" ?
Is there anyone listening
who can arrange for a room? (Hans?)
Thanks, Very Respectably,
