This list is for the use of individuals with an interest in the history and modeling of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Application for membership must include narrative to justify request.

Many list members either belong to the B&O Railroad Historical Society, are Society officers, or write for "The Sentinel", official publication of the Society. The list owner certainly supports the Society. Rules are simple: Stay close to the B&O topic, use a commendable degree of politeness, and enjoy expanding your own knowledge while helping others. {FLAMERS WILL BE PUT ON MODERATED STATUS. IN EXTREME CASES, INDIVIDUALS MAY BE BANNED FROM THE LIST}. It is requested that only images (.JPG and .GIF are the only image formats supported) be posted in the "Photos" section and only text material (.DOC, .PDF, .TXT, etc.) be posted in the "Files" section. In both cases, the posting member is responsible for making sure he/she has the legal right to use the material being posted. Please consult the posting guidelines in each section before uploading images or files. Please refrain from spontaneously posting files and photos unless they have been part of a list topic to help amplify what is being discussed. Attachments to individual messages are not permitted by request of several members; they take up too much bandwidth. Archives are open to all, whether list members or not. Research and writing for "The Sentinel" are strongly encouraged. Advertisement of the sale of railroad-related items on this list is permitted as long as there is B&O content in some form, and that responses to such advertisements are kept off-list.
