This list is for discussion of the historical aspects of electric traction in the New York metropolitan area, including New York City Transit's subways and the current New Jersey light rail lines--and their predecessors, such IRT, BMT, IND, B&QT, Third Avenue Railway System, New Jersey traction, southwestern Connecticut traction, Staten Island Rapid Transit, planning policy, employee and observer remembrances, much more. Also included: New Haven, New York Central, Metro-North, Long Island Rail Road and Pennsylvania commuter rail services.

HOME PAGE PICTURE (09-01) MTA NEW YORK CITY SUBWAY: R33WF 9306, in original World's Fair colors, leads the "Train Of Many Colors" on a special public run on the IRT Flushing Line on September 28, 2008 to commemorate the last Mets game to be played at Shea Stedium.
