Boston region traction/transit discussion group. This list is for discussion of the historical aspects of MBTA and its predecessors--MTA, Boston Elevated, Eastern Mass., Boston, Revere Beach Lynn, etc. Included are discussions of the various classes of streetcars, changes in modal operation, the Red, Orange and Blue heavy rail lines, the trackless trolley network, planning policy, employee and observer remembrances, much more. Also included: New Haven, Boston Maine and Boston Albany commuter rail services, traction in other Massachusetts cities such as Worcester, Springfield, New Bedford and Lowell. Discussion of traction in Providence and southern New Hampshire is also acceptable.
