Camap – Cost and Management Accountants in Practice. The organization was started in 1976.
Its objectives are to improve technical competence of Cost Accountants, those in practice, in particular. This is done by:
a) Holding monthly meetings, at which professional matters are discussed; queries are answered; doubts are sorted out. All this is done through consensus.
b) Arranging lectures, seminars, workshops and national conventions on relevant topics and at affordable rates, at different places.
c) Publishing monthly CAMAP NEWSLETTER which enables members to keep abreast with latest professional techniques and news.
d) To publish books through which senior Cost Accountants share their experiences and knowledge with new entrants.
e) Provide young Cost Accountants platform to speak and write on professional topics.
CAMAP supplements the efforts of ICWAI. The institute has to cater to the needs of students besides Cost Accountants in employment. The number to be serviced is too large.
Anyone who has passed qualifying examination of ICWAI or equivalent examination.
CAMAP offers an opportunity to its members:
- to serve the profession by sharing ones knowledge and experience.
- to improve ones knowledge through participation in various CAMAP activities.
- to gain experience of elective process. There are no perks attached to CAMAP posts. It is easier to hold responsible positions in CAMAP.
And more important CAMAP is an organization for and by Cost and Management Accountants in practice or intend to start practice in future.
