Good evening all,

Ed covered a lot about the second sub and the filming of the movie
and I thought it might be good to try and describe some of the
filming locations used in the movie.
The shots during the opening credits were taken between milepost 14
and 17 on the first sub, once the black and white turned to color,
the shots were between mp 3 and 4.
Myrtle City was at milepost 0.6 on the first sub.
Leaving Myrtle City, the shots were taken between milepost 128 and
130 west of Spalding.
The next shots are eastbound coming out of tunnel 1 on the second,
the telegraph stop was near milepost 21, the wood stop I think was
above tunnel 7.
The fireman falls off the train on the halmoon bridge.
Then, by some strange circumstance, the train comes out of tunnel 1
again, the director must have liked the shot.
The runaway began above tunnel 5 and went over the bank near
milepost 23. The vibrating wheels shown in this sequence were filmed
just west of the siding switch at Arrow on the first sub.
The next shot I am not sure of, but it appears to be one of the
bridges just west of O'Mill, near milepost 18 on the fourth, but it
could have been near Headquarters also.
The fight scene between Bronson and Archie Moore was between mp 35
and 36 on the fourth, both men hanging over the side of the coach
over bridge 36-1. This same bridge is where Bronson throws Moore off
the train.
The fort was actually the Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective
Association headquarters located near the Deer Creek siding on the
fourth sub, when the Indians leave the fort, they head up the
landing strip.
When Bronson goes over the top of the train to take control, that
shot is between mp 30 and 31 just east of Revling.
The next shot looking upward at the train going over a bridge is
bridge 30 between Reubens and Craigmont and the Indian attack was
also in the same area.
Snow was a problem, the fourth had plenty, the second had very
little. Snow machines were brought in to give the cover needed to
stay with the story line.
Those who have this movie can also notice the director forgot to
edit out the power lines visible in the background during the last
part of the movie. Those lines cross near milepost 30.
One of the stunt men in the movie was Terry Leonard who came back
as the second unit director when "Wild, Wild West" was filmed on the
CSP.
