The Norfolk & Western Railway operated the Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railway from 1964 through 1990 as its Connellsville District. The P&WV is a fascinating rail line that will be extensively covered in a proposed series of pictorial books now in the planning stages at Montour Shops. This first in a planned series of spectacular pictorials will cover the N&W/NS Era Operations from the late 1970's up through and including the final days of Norfolk Southern operations before the Connellsville District was transferred to the W&LE.

This new black & white (Duotone) pictorial book will cover the entire 111 miles of main track including the West End, Mifflin, Clairton and Donora Branches. The dustcover photograph of N&W 1336 East exiting Temple Tunnel taking 50 loads of grain to Chaintown gives us a preview of what to expect in the new pictorial. This new pictorial will contain 144 pages, printed on 157 pound acid free paper, measures 12"x9" complete with hardcover and dustcover.
