Unit has been an on & off local power in Allentown for the better part of a
year now. Sorry to see her go, hope it's not serious enough to warrant the big
black donkey paint dip.

I have seen that local on a Sunday and seen the 2 SD40-2's. Are they still
working the local? What are the # on the units?

Bob,

If you're willing, let me know how much or where to send and I'll get
either $$ or blank CD's out to you. I'm getting anxious to run some
Blue units again! I just finished up drawing out the entire Marias
Pass route on paper with all the sidings, switches, etc.

There may be many more cases out there like this, but I just noticed
it last night when I had CR 5577 (PRR 6717) and CR 5600 (PRR 6731)
lined up together.

Comparing the Engineer side of these two units, the Quality logo on
CR 5577 appears to be smaller than normal. The normal paint puts the
rails to the very end of the last door towards the long hood end, and
the Q right up to the electrical door.

The Q on CR 5600 however runs right over the door by about 5 or 6"
and is much shorter, leaving almost 3 doors on the free end logoless.
I wish I could have gotten some digitals, if anybody has access to
roster shots of 5600 check it out.

Just another one of those little quirks!

I have heard that some folks are working on the middle division for
MSTS. Anyone have any info? I just downloaded some great blue units from
train-sim - some C40-8's in both wide and standard cab as well as some
CR box, coal, and other assorted equipment.

Mike,

How does the interior of the cab look on the widebodies? One thing
that really drives me nuts are their signals! Wish they made sense or
were NORAC signals or something. Nothing like coming into a yard on
an approach limited, which according to the game says you proceed
with caution.

I had serious problems setting everything up the cab views and sound,

Having never been in the cab for Hbg east or west, it would be fun for
me. I guess for you - you could at least hit pause and go do something
else for awhile unlike the real thing. I just downloaded them the other
day and have only actually driven the one wide-cab in the quality scheme
and it had the same cab as the MSTS BNSF dash 9. When I get a chance,
I'll have to make up some trains with the other 2.

Mike,

How does the interior of the cab look on the widebodies? One thing
that really drives me nuts are their signals! Wish they made sense or
were NORAC signals or something. Nothing like coming into a yard on
an approach limited, which according to the game says you proceed
with caution.

I had serious problems setting everything up the cab views and sound,
etc to be able to run the power I had downloaded. That's why I'm
hoping the cd Bob made will help

How much fun would that be to run from Harrisburg east... it'd be

Do they actualy have MSTS for HBG East or West, yet?

The cab signals for the CR widecabs to be "prototypical" for lack of a better
term would have to be the PRR-position light style cabs, even the NS widecabs
have the same feature. I've never been inside a UP/BNSF/RFP engine with cab
signals, so I honestly don't know if they are any different.

As far as I know only the CR and NS units have PRR style cab signals. The new
CSX units have CSX style cab signals in them, I imagine the BNSF units would
have BNSF style signals. With little modification, most cab signal styles are
compatible, it's all in how you read the indications.

Stepping into the cab of a UP or BNSF unit is a bit different, for
lack of a better term. When you see how they've got their cab signals
set up it'll definately make ya wanna "what the hell!?!?"

Is your email a worldnet address? I would give you my address here
on the board but since it's a public board anyone would have access
to it (non members) and then I would get the flow of junk and
viruses.

Kris, is there someway we members can get each others email addresses
without outsiders knowing them?

In a previous post I was sending for MT-4 drawings. Doug, are the
ones you have for the 6 axle units? I could use drawings from both
the MT4's and 6's!

If you both have AIM, post your Screen name then leave a message
though AIM the the other person. This way you will not have to post
your email address. I dont know for sure, but Yahoo Messanger may do
the same.
