Directory Services Denied by Airtel Landline -- Regarding   Message List
Reply Message #1832 of 3118 |
Hi,

Currently, I guess, any landline service has to provide a directory service
worldover, either via WhitePages or online or customercare right?

What should be the process when the private amateurs like Airtel Landline says
"Sorry. We don't service directory requests via 42112345".

Is this a blatant violation of the 'Right to Information'? Already, Airtel
Landline connections are known for being issued without proper documentation and
gross misuse. I don't think not much of government agencies accept Private
Telephony Bills as proof of address. And I think, this type of attitude and
response from Airtel CustomerCare, does not fail to make things more ridiculous
but also makes law and order enforcement worse in India. Almost all of the
telemarketing agents are routed via Airtel Landline network, at least in
Chennai.

How should we tackle this issue?

Thanks and Regards,
