Hi,

The legal process can take a while but could achieve fruits. But I am not sure,
you approaching the police would get any results. At least from the perspective
of Chennai, cops aren't that productive.

A while back I had blogged about traffic system in Chennai compared to US
(http://viewsreviews.wordpress.com/2007/05/20/admirable-traffic-system-in-us/)
besides an experience of my friend who could strike a bargain at INR 20 from INR
200!
