Corruption - Registration and khata issues

Dear Swarna,I do not think it is a question of low salaries. People working in
private organisations are also paid low salaries. They are not corrupt. These
govt. people in addition to "low salaries" also get other benefits like pension,
gratuity, leave encashment, "extra" holidays, etc, which the people in private
do not enjoy.I think corruption is due to the attitude of the superiors, lack of
knowledge on the part of the public and poor grievance redressal system. If any
of these 3 are available, then there would be less corruption.Out of these 3 we
can control 2 i.e. knowledge and grievance redressal. Only if we take some time
know things can be done legally. Knowledge can be obtained from various sources
such as the web, consumer welfare organisations, etc. We should also know where
to pour out our problems. You can approach PRO of that dept., State Vigilance
Bureau, CBI, RTI. There is also a public grievance website that is run by the
central govt.
[I do not remember the name].I think that we are in a hurry to get things done.
In order to achieve it, we are prepared to pay extra money. Many things can be
achieved legally. But you should have patience.ThanksSankar 1. Corruption -

Hi,

I am Swarna, aresident of bangalore. I guess this is right place to
voice my opinion. I feel it quite disgusting ..I mean the corruption
level of openness!
Registration of property(bangalore outskirts-taluk level) varies from
5k-10k flat(as per my experience) and for a khata transfer which
actiually involves a tariff less than 500/-, incurs a minimum of 3k
to 10k cost for getting the task done.
The government pays so meagre salaries to these officials that they
end up in demanding additional costs(which is pathetic...grosse..) It
is a well known issue and all of us just comply with it.
Alternative would be to face the wrath of the so called govt. people
in ur own area or spend for lawyers which wud definitely cost more
than these petty(wonder of 10k is petty amount??) bribe amounts.
Is there a way to fight such issues out?

Regards,
Swarna.
