This group occasionally gets new members wanting to know more about the current day operations of the railroad, THIS GROUP IS NOT THE PLACE FOR SUCH DISCUSSION. This group is a HISTORICAL group, covering everything from when the tracks were laid in 1872 up until steam left the property in 1987. Everything since 1987 is considered OFF TOPIC for the purpose of this group. (Being an employee of the railroad, I do not want to get accused of leaking something, hence no discussion of current day operations). The only current day discussion that will be allowed will be of former CO&E equipment as its status now.

Hopefully, this is the beginning of what will become a 'historical society of sorts' for this unique shortline railroad so that my vast collection of information, artifacts and images will have a home once I'm gone as I spent the last 27 years accumulating it and do not want to see it split up by a bunch of railfans who only want pictures. There is FAR more to this company than the steam locomotives it once ran.
