Howdy Folks,

Welcome to a new Yahoo Group that has been established for folks
interested in the various railroads that operated in the Cripple
Creek Mining District, in Colorado.

This is a place to discuss the...
- Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad
- Midland Terminal Railway
- Colorado Springs & Cripple Creek District Railroad
- Golden Circle Railroad
...and the Low & High Line Trolley systems

In addition, this will also be a group that will discuss the current
tourist railroad, the "Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad".


Hopes are, this will be a place for both railfans, railroad
historians, and model railroads... all to meet and discuss, share
stories and findings, information and tips, on these unique
railroads that operated (and still operate) in the 'Cripple Creek
Mining Distrist'.


There are several wonderful Yahoo Discussion groups that are more
specific to both past and present, other railroads in Colorado. Some
cover specific rail lines, that may have connected to the above
railroads. Some talk about the various narrow gauge lines in the
State. These are all wonderful groups!

If you would like to focus and discuss one of the above lines, most
being "short lines" that only operated in this area, then this I
hope will be the place.

In the coming days and weeks, I hope to start posting some "opening
information" and overview bio stuff on the various lines. And maybe
start some opening points for discussions on these roads.


Everyone is welcome to join this group. The Message Archives will
be open to the public for viewing (you do not have to join to read
messages here). I would like to see and read, share and learn more
information about these railroads, and hope others feel the same.


I am this group's moderator and also moderate three other railroad
groups, but most of my postings here will not be as the moderator,
but as a railfan, train buff, and modeler, like many you you, that
has an interest in these lines. I invite suggestions and
comments, and ask that they normally come to be in private email
first, not here in public.


Thank-you for visiting this new group. Please pass the word of this
new place to talk about the railroads of the Cripple Creek Mining
District, to others who like Colorado railroads. And please take a
minute and consider posting some information you have found, to
share with others here.
