Description

This is reference for the Durham & Southern railroad which ran 59 miles from Durham, NC to Dunn, NC from 1906-1979. The line was originally built as the Cape Fear & Northern Ry in 1899-1906. The D&S ran their last train on July 5, 1979. It mergered into the Seaboard Coast Line and is now known as present-day CSX Corp.
The recent model locomotives made by Athearn show that this shortline was much loved and not forgotten.

Re: Tie Markers?
Square, metal, I'd say aluminum. Stamped, 408, 409, 410. They are metal tags with a nail hole. About 4 by 3 in or less. I also found a date nail separately
