Description

This forum is established to initiate and promote legislation that would provide an avenue for many current and former FAA Federal Employees to attain retirement benefits that were lost in the outsourcing of our nations' Flight Service Stations in October 2005.

During a Reduction In Force, Federal Employees are supposed to have many rights and protections afforded to them based upon tenure. The FAA failed to honor the TENURE of these employees, and even sponsored legislation that allowed some employees back into the agency that had lower tenure than other employees.

Many long term employees lost most of their retirement benefits when their positions were handed over to a private company.

Our legislation proposals will be fair, and will fall in line with what other federal employees receive during a Reduction In Force.

We are seeking legislation that would ensure the following:

1. That Federal Employees that fall under any of the Special Retirement Categories (Air Traffic Control, Law Ennforcement, and Fire Fighters) recieve the same FIVE YEAR CREDIT that employees of any other Federal positions receive during a RIF.

NOTE*** Employees of these three special categories currently receive NO TIME CREDITED during a RIF while all other Federal Employees get up to FIVE YEARS CREDIT!

2. That Federal Air Traffic Control Employees that are displaced be allowed to have any retirement benefit calculated at the full 1.7% per year that they paid extra money into their retirement fund to receive.

3. That no Federal Employee that loses their position due to a Reduction In Force should suffer an Age Penalty on retirement calculations.

OTHER IDEAS ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED!

This forum is open to any individuals that want to help promote this cause. It is open to constructive ideas that are presented in an adult manner.
