FPON - Foreign Power in Ontario is a place to share info about run-through or lease fleet locomotives that are operating in Ontario. That is to be taken to mean surrounding areas where trains may be heading to Ontario as well. List members are expected to actively participate by noting the unusual for the rest of the list. FPON is not anticipated to be a discussion forum like the C-P-R or C-N-R lists, but rather a strictly informational resource where only actual sightings, tips from "deep throats" and limited computer information can be accessed. There may be occasion to question, clarify, or correct information and we will tolerate such, but there will be no protracted debating. Sometimes there are people with resources who may be willing to "update" the location of a reported locomotive if provided with a number. Please be reasonable and have a "take-what-you-get" attitude and not continually harass somebody you might think can find something out because you could get them in trouble. You aren't going to get them all anyways. General etiquette rules apply and new members must be approved by a moderator. To prevent spammers, new members will be moderated until they are "verified" as legitimate sources of reliable and pertinent information. While it is unfortunate in today's world that children sometimes go missing, it is actually very rare that they are found and saved by foamers so please refrain from doing your searching on this list.

Here is an example of an easy to read, informative report: "CN 394 by Paris at 1011-08 with BNSF 7614-NREX 783-CN 5522. (whereby 1011-08 is the time and date)
