The Worst Internet Traffic Money Can Buy
If you want to make money on the Web you have to be able to
send a flow of visitors to your website. Traffic is the
holy grail of Internet marketing. Most people just
starting out in the world of e-commerce are hungry to get
their hands on cheap traffic and lots of it. But the sites
that promise tons of visitors for a great price almost
always turn out to be a huge disappointment for many.
Buying bulk traffic online can be very costly and leave you
with no profits.
Be extremely wary of sites that guarantee traffic. 10,000
visitors for ten bucks or 100,000 visitors for less than
one hundred dollars sounds pretty sweet, doesn't it? You
may notice your website hits dramatically increase, but why
aren't you making any sales? You would think at least one
of those thousand visitors would buy something, right?
Unfortunately, most of these traffic sites that promise
truck loads of traffic send ghost visitors to you. By
using manipulative software and other tactics, these
companies know how to create hits to your website without
sending actual visitors.
It's basically an outright scam. You're not making money
off of any of the traffic they send you and when you
complain about it they just blame you for not being able to
convert the visits to sales. There disclaimer basically
states that they'll give you the guaranteed traffic, but
you are responsible to make the sales. How are you
supposed to do that when the visitors aren't even real?
Pray for an online miracle, I guess.
Not all of these companies send fake traffic. Some send
actual people, but only the type that is extremely low in
quality. They're usually given a monetary incentive to
look at your page. Because the more pages they view the
more they get paid, your site is only seen for a couple
seconds before they click onto the next site. These people
aren't interested in what you have to offer and probably
don't even give it a glance. The only thing that matters
to them is how fast they can click their mouse and get
paid. This is definitely not targeted traffic and isn't
worth a dime of your money.
Even investing in traffic through ezine ads can prove to be
very ineffective. Those who sell ezine advertisements
claim that your ad will be sent to their high quality list
of thousands of individuals via email. This would be great
if yours was the only one being sent. In reality, your ad
is sent with hundreds of other other ads to their lists as
well. Most people will never get to read it because they
consider it spam and delete it without even opening the
message. Sound familiar? It does to me because I delete
them the same way every single day.
Most of the victims who fall for these traffic scams are
new to Internet marketing. The first and most important
thing they are taught is to generate traffic to their
websites. Naturally, they look for fast and easy methods
to obtain those visitors through these attractive sites
that offer it cheaply and in bulk. They learn the hard way
that guaranteed traffic is not targeted traffic.
In my opinion, the only traffic worth buying comes from PPC
(Pay Per Click) advertisements. You place your ad in major
search engines and only pay when someone who makes a search
inquiry clicks on the ad. Now you are paying for highly
targeted traffic because people clicking on your link are
truly interested in the content of your website. PPC is a
very effective and reputable promotional tool and can give
you quality visitors pretty quickly.
Pay Per Click advertising is the best way to go if you want
to purchase effective traffic. It's best to stay away from
companies who promise tons of traffic at low prices. You
just don't know where those visitors are coming from, if
they come at all. To be safe, just do what the pros do.
Very successful Internet marketers get most of their
quality traffic through the search engines. They
accomplish this by continually creating and distributing
their content across the Web through methods such as
articles or blogs. This is a long term strategy that you
should seriously give some thought to. It will be well
worth it in the end.
