Lessons About Tattoo Removal From A Practicing Dermatologist

My brother has been a dermatologist for about 20 years. During
his time in practice, he has had his share of patients coming to
him for advice about their tattoos. Although he never shares the
names of his patients because of confidentiality laws, he is able
to relay many stories. Some of them are funny, some of them are
outrageous and many of them are heartbreaking.

However, as a dermatologist, the majority of his tattoo clients
are seeking to have their tattoos removed. Unfortunately, they
are not aware that this is a very time-consuming and expensive
process and many of them ultimately leave stunned and shocked.

Thankfully, my brother is an excellent dermatologist, with all of
the credentials and certifications needed to perform the most
sophisticated and state-of-the-art laser removal of tattoos. When
he first entered his practice back in the late 1980s, he hadn't
thought much about tattoo removal as a main part of his services.
He was more interested in helping teenagers treat acne and
encouraging patients to get skin cancer screenings.

Now he is an advocate for tattoo education, trying to ensure that
anyone who wants to get a tattoo is sure to have it done by
someone who practices appropriate sterilization techniques.

Unfortunately, many of my brother's patients want to remove
tattoos that were botched from the beginning. Today's preferred
way of removing unwanted tattoos is through a sophisticated laser
tattoo removal process, which targets the ink and breaks it down
into small particles that are harmlessly reabsorbed into the
body.

Depending on the sophistication of the design, the number, colors
and intensity of inks used and the depth of the tattoo, the
series of treatments may take a year or more before the tattoo is
faded enough to declare success.

Tattoos done by amateurs using lower quality inks may be removed
in three or four sessions, but professional designs can take much
longer. The length of each session varies, but consider spending
about 15 minutes under the laser every two or three months until
the tattoo has faded.

The reason the treatments takes so long is to avoid permanent
damage to the skin, so patience is a virtue if you want to have a
tattoo removed.

Until you have a consultation with the dermatologist, there is no
way to tell how long the process will take, or how much it might
cost. (My brother charges about $300 for a 15-minute session for
a typical six-inch tattoo, as long as there aren't any
complications.)

The money and the time add up, and that's why my brother would
prefer that young people consider all the drawbacks to a tattoo
before they make that commitment.

Many patients want to know if it is painful to have a tattoo
removed. My brother says that there is a certain amount of
discomfort involved which he compares to a series of bee stings.
Some patients tolerate the procedure better than others do, and
he does provide pain relief and topical anesthesia for those who
are getting large areas of their body worked on.

Most people want their body art removed because it is from an era
where they thought it was hip or cool to sport a tattoo. Others
want their ex-girlfriend's name removed or don't like the fact
that the tattoos are visible when wearing certain articles of
clothing.

Moreover, there are many who feel the tattoo job was botched in
the first place and it's time for it to be gone.

Regardless of the reason you might want to remove your tattoo,
make sure you select a qualified dermatologist who is skilled and
experienced in the procedure and is trained to use the latest
equipment. Ask for references and do check them. And make sure
you know up front what the doctor's fee is going to be.

It's expensive, but in many cases, you may be able to negotiate
a deal. Good luck to you!

The Decline and Fall of the Retirement Empire

Debt Free To Retire
http://debtfreetoretire.com/

"I have a pension and it'll have to be enough!" As a financial
Advisor over the past 10 years I have often heard this statement.
It was difficult 10 years ago to explain to future retirees why
this was an impossible belief to hold. 10 years ago no one would
believe the changes that would occur in our world view. Then, the
economy ebbed and flowed, Bear and Bull markets were manageable.
People just waited out the economic downturns. They didn't sell
their stock, they held and kept all of their investments, many of
which they themselves had purchased from their own jobs or were
given to them as gifts from their parents.

Here we are 10 years later looking back at our retirement
planning and the fallout effected by the stock market conditions
of March of 2000, that changed the way we invested forever. We
sold stocks, we no longer held and kept them for our lifetime. We
realized the astute ideas behind exit strategies for selling
stock, utilizing stop/loss strategies to protect the profits of
our investments and questioned wisely, the usefulness of selling
short or on margin.

Preparing for retirement 10 years ago the employee was often
provided a future pension through his employer. This pension may
have been provided strictly by the company profits at a time when
business growth could be projected year by year. Or the pension
may have included employee participation in the still fledgling
pre-tax contributions to 401(k)'s offered by corporations to
help the workingman provide for his own retirement.

Many people participated in the former pension because their
employers provided the funding. Less took advantage of the latter
opportunities because they either did not feel they could afford
to contribute to the investment or they felt that the pension
and/or Social Security benefits offered by the Federal Government
would be enough to cover the lifestyle of their retirement
future.

Either way it was certain that the employee had very little
comprehension of the value of the pre-tax savings and the impact
upon their future retirement lifestyle. Employers were also
shortsighted looking only at the relief from having to provide an
employee pension, not necessarily invested enough into the
practice to assure the employee would take advantage of the
benefit; and certainly not interested enough to assure the
employees had options that would give them really good mutual
fund choices and diversification into more than just bond funds
or large cap growth funds.

Little did we realize that the pension would go away and that the
pre-tax function for saving for retirement would be the mainstay
of millions of Americans. A better understanding of how the
401(k) grows in relation to tax-deferred income, reducing income
taxes and building a nest egg based on lifestyle needs, has
improved the employees ability to recognize the importance of
saving for their own retirement.

Now we need to protect our affluence. We need to keep watch over
the economic impacts that will upset the continued prosperity and
remain aware of the political moves that will affect the stock
market. This is often difficult because of the hidden agendas of
the political parties.

Some people believe that what is happening to our wealth through
loss of pensions, diminishing Social Security for future
generations, our current 401(k) investments and the governmental
determination to spread the wealth around through taxation and
distribution is considered part of the cycle of change which will
somehow better the economic situation for all Americans.

Recognizing that to hold this belief means that people feel they
can still control the costs and expenses of retirement by simply
tightening their belts and foregoing the dreams of travel and
hobbies almost inherent to the retiree. What a surprise to find
they are now subsisting in a lifestyle that is denuded of the
anticipation of living a better retirement life than the previous
generation. The need to try to control your retirement economy
begins with you, your saving, your spending habits and your debt.
These are things you can control to give you the life you can
expect as a retiree.

Market Gurus kept anticipating the return of the market after
March of 2000. On September 11th terrorism began the decimation
of our economy, societal changes from an industrial nation to a
service industry as corporations outsourced more and more of our
jobs overseas added to the job losses, and the economic impact of
stock market underhanded graft and large investor control caused
a continuing financial drag on our lives and prolonged the
healthy return of our savings and our standard of living.

When I questioned myself as to how the economy would ever make a
return to "normal" with increasing job losses in every sector
and increasing unemployment and government takeovers by
"stimulus packages," I began reading and researching. A few
months later reading about the devastating impact of the American
Civil War on the economy of the United States, I found the answer
to the turn of the century wealth that brought our country back
to prosperity after the Civil War and found that it was pretty
much based on the Industrial Revolution and all of the industries
that evolved so quickly because of it.

Today, we are a service-providing nation. We used to provide
services all over the world and while we still do, as a Nation
the services are provided through American Corporations by
cheaper labor in outsourced countries that have raised their
standard of living while ours has dwindled. Is all of the planned
Socialization of America blamed on government policies and
political issues designed to change voting habits, or on the
cycle of change that will inherently make the United States of
America a better place to live?

What I see is a return to a life with fewer opportunities for
this generation to become more affluent than their parents
through hard work, education and vision because of huge
government spending and now even less interest in building new
job opportunities. Our future will hold very little opportunity
to travel domestically or to foreign lands because of the
inability to afford the luxury of gas for your automobile or the
exorbitant costs of flying and train travel. Staying home within
a provincial, small town atmosphere will deny us knowledge of a
better life beyond the borders and where soon you will, again, be
controlled and told what to think, what to do, how to work, where
to live, and expect nothing more from life reminiscent of the
earlier era's when there was no middle class only upper and very
low classes. History does indeed repeat itself, but I thought we
were to learn our lessons.

Is it only for the conservatives and independents to learn the
lessons while the liberals consider how they can make slaves of
the lower class through socialism and demagoguery? Jobs have
always been available in health care but today it is not in the
higher echelon of Degree level Nurses but in the lower stratum of
home care aides; not in the High tech industry of computer
designs but designs developed by computers. While our government
provided opportunities for jobs, now they own and compete for
jobs against the entrepreneur, becoming the largest employer this
country has ever had. Who will break up "Ma Bell" today?

Some people might say "Get over it! You have had a great life in
middle class America, it's time now for the lower classes to
move into your world." I'm afraid the only way this will happen
is if we descend to the level of the lower classes through a loss
of our retirement savings and the increase in taxes causing the
demise of the middle class. Now there will only be two classes
and history has repeated itself. I should have titled my article
...The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich... I mean Third Class...

Understanding Personal Injury Law and Knowing When You Need a Personal Injury
Lawyer

When in an accident caused by someone else's carelessness or
deliberate actions, one of the first thoughts that goes through
most people's minds after the panic and relief subsides, is
whether they should seek out a personal injury lawyer. It's an
understandable thought - one that could be acted upon, but only
after you have armed yourself with all the right information.
First, you should know what personal injury law is, whether you
even need a personal injury lawyer, and when you should choose
one.

What Is Personal Injury Law?

This type of law focuses on recompensing you should you
experience injuries, lost wages, disfigurement, or any form of
harm - both physically and emotionally - due to some other
person's negligence or willful conduct.

Do You Need A Personal Injury Lawyer?

If you have been seriously injured as the result of another
person's negligence, you should definitely seek advice from an
experienced personal injury lawyer. This is not necessarily
because you're filing for a suit before the day ends. It just
means you need a professional check whether there are grounds for
a lawsuit, and if so, whether a lawsuit is the best choice in
your case. There is no need to worry about payment at this point,
as most initial meetings with personal injury lawyers are for
free. Financial compensation will be discussed when you decide to
hire the lawyer. The usual practice in personal injury cases is
for your lawyer to foot whatever bill the case might require, and
only be paid when the case is concluded. If you don't get a
settlement, he doesn't either.

When Should You Choose A Personal Injury Lawyer?

You should consult a personal injury lawyer as soon after the
injury as possible. There are a lot of reasons why you should do
this. First, your memory is never as fresh as when you've just
been through the experience. This applies to other people
involved as well. You want the evidence intact as there's
usually a need for photographs, witnesses' accounts, etc.
Second, most probably, the other person involved is going to have
people on their side - insurance investigators, their own lawyer
- looking into the situation and you need to have someone who's
experienced in dealing with similar cases on your side as well.
And third, there are usually limits to the filing of claims, else
they get terminated. For instance, unless other factors are
involved, a Wisconsin negligence lawsuit should be filed within
three years of the injury. There are also different limitations
attached when the conduct is intentional, or if governmental
entities are involved. Your personal injury lawyer can tell you
the specific limitations for your case, and assist you in acting
on it accordingly.

It's bad enough that you have to suffer through injuries caused
by someone else. Don't make things harder for yourself. Be proactive
and seek a personal injury lawyer to help you understand your
rights and get the compensation you deserve.

New Trends In Gaming Laptops

Gaming laptops and gaming technology are constantly changing and
offering us some great new features to consider if you're in the
market for a gaming laptop. Perhaps, the biggest trend has been
the movement towards even smaller, sleeker gaming laptops in
recent months. The introduction of the Alienware M11x is a
perfect example of this trend towards smaller gaming devices.

While both Dell and Alienware are said to dislike calling the new
11 inch device a gaming "netbook"; their official marketing ads
calls the M11x a "sub-15 inch" gaming laptop. Regardless of
what Dell/Alienware wants, this 4 pound laptop with a T335M GPU
and a HD 11" display with 1336 x 768 max resolution, fits into
the extremely hot netbook market. Why they would object is a
little puzzling, but they probably want to put the emphasis on
the M11x's gaming performance and power, rather than
concentrating on its small size.

However, the M11x fits perfectly into the netbook market, and
there are probably countless number of gamers who want a powerful
gaming laptop which is truly portable and can be easily carried
around. Especially, when you consider the overall trend or
movement to portable devices, such as the recent introduction of
the Apple iPad Tablet, which also has a gaming element to it.

The M11x will fit nicely in today's ever-increasing mobile
world, especially when you factor in the youth market, which
these portable devices are obviously targeting, one can plainly
see the trend to more mobile gaming devices is on the horizon.
Young people who have been raised on cell phones, Nintendo DS,
iPods... will expect the next logical step up to small gaming
laptops, call them "gaming netbooks", "sub-15 inch laptops"
or whatever; these machines won't be wasted on the young.

No doubt, if the Alienware M11x proves popular with the buying
public, other laptop manufacturers will follow suit and produce
miniature versions of their own gaming rigs. If this happens,
then a movement towards smaller, more portable gaming laptops
will become a solid trend in the gaming marketplace.

Another major trend with gaming laptops is the growing importance
of 3D technologies and displays. This was probably inevitable
with the recent popularity and the enormous commercial success of
the 3D movie Avatar, which has placed 3D back on everyone's
mind. Emphasis here is on commercial success, once something has
proven profitable, you can bet manufacturers are taking note. We
will probably see many more 3D movies and content coming
available to the viewing public, much more than what we had in
the past.

Once this 3D content becomes more abundant, we will want/demand
ways to view and enjoy it, so expect more 3D Television Sets and
Displays to flood the home entertainment marketplace. Along with
that will come an even greater interest in 3D gaming and machines
to utilize all this new 3D technology. Of course, 3D gaming has
been around for awhile, but only now have gaming laptops been
catching up in performance and power, to fully take advantage of
3D gaming.

Expect a lot more 3D gaming laptops to hit the market in coming
months, Dell and HP are both rumored to have rigs in the works.
One could also expect more 3D games and gaming peripherals to
enhance your 3D enjoyment and pleasure. When you really consider
it, 3D plays perfectly into the gaming mind-set, which is wired
for fun and spectacular visuals. It is perfectly suited for
computer gaming and role playing, bringing CGI characters to life
in a more realistic fantasy world. What more could you ask for?

In the coming months, these two new trends will play an
ever-increasing role in gaming laptops. Expect to see more
portable devices which takes gaming out into the real world,
making your gaming much more portable. Also, look for a trend
towards 3D in many more devices, bringing this technology more
into the mainstream and not just a silly gimmick to get your
attention. 3D will become more integrated into content not only
for computer games, but also for movies and television programs.
Once more content is produced, everyone can expect more 3D
Television sets and 3D gaming laptops.

The Top Ten Mistakes Made in Job Interviews and How to Avoid Them

You did it! You impressed your future employer to the point where
they called you in for a face-to-face job interview. This is your
chance to go in there in person and shine. Now that you've been
given this opportunity, it's critical that you don't waste it.
Here are the top ten mistakes made in job interviews and how to
avoid them.

1. Dressing Dreadfully: According to a Careerbuilder.com survey,
the single most common mistake made by candidates in job
interviews is inappropriate dress. It's almost a certainty that
you as the candidate will be expected to wear a business suit or
other formal dress to the interview. The one exception to this
rule can be high-tech companies, where anything other than jeans
and flip flops might make you stick out like a sore thumb.

2. Badmouthing The Boss: Believe it or not, the second most
common mistake made by a job candidate was badmouthing their
former boss. How do you think your perspective boss will feel if
they hear you harping on your prior boss? They're going to
wonder whether they'll be the topic of conversation if you
should happen to move on to another company in the future. Even
if you have excellent reasons to be bitter, don't do it.

3. Lack of Excitement: If you can't get excited for the job
interview, your interviewer will probably figure that you won't
be very enthusiastic while you're on the job. Sit or stand up
straight. Smile! Make sure the interviewer knows how excited you
are to be interviewing for this particular job.

4. Acting Like a Know-It-All: There's probably nothing that
annoys an interviewer more than an applicant who comes in and is
aggressive to the point of arrogance. While it's very important
to engage with your interviewer and ask questions, there's a
fine line between showing interest and monopolizing the
conversation to the point where the interviewer can't get a word
in edge-wise. Be sure to let the interviewer finish their
sentences, and try not to ramble on when you're speaking.

5. Lack of Preparation: On the other hand, it's vital that you
prepare for a job interview by researching the company and
preparing for all the typical questions you're likely to be
asked. If the interviewer asks a question you don't know the
answer to, you're much better off telling them so than
stuttering and mumbling as you grope for an answer.

6. Not Asking Pertinent Questions: An interview is a two-way
street. You don't want to ask a bunch of irrelevant questions at
a job interview, but you do want to ask pertinent,
well-thought-out questions that require more than a yes or no
answer.

7. Late on Arrival: You never get a second chance... No doubt
you've heard it before. If you're going to be late, call and
tell the interviewer, the sooner the better. If it's earlier in
the day, ask if you can reschedule for later that day.

8. Being Inarticulate: One of the questions you're almost sure
to hear at a job interview is "What are your strengths and
weaknesses?" Although it might seem like a simple question, more
often than not it's tough to articulate the answer, so practice.
Rehearse the answers you plan to give for questions like this.

9. Being too General: When the interviewer asks you a question,
do your best to give examples or connections that link your
answer to the job under consideration. You're usually better
served with concise, specific answers rather than longer,
rambling answers that don't necessarily apply to the job you're
seeking.

10. Asking about Salary: Don't be too eager to talk salary.
While it's vital not to sell yourself short, you don't want to
make your salary requirements the centerpiece of the interview.
If it doesn't come up during the course of the interview, you
can ask about the salary toward the end.

Do You Know the Difference Between an Investment Advisor and a Broker?

As an fee-only investment advisor I come across clients from all
walks of life. Lately I have noticed something in common with
many of these investors. Many do not know the difference between
an investment advisor and a broker who manages and/or makes
securities recommendations for their clients' investment
portfolios. With the almost unprecedented volatility in the
securities markets, you cannot afford to dig your head in the
sand when it comes to whom is managing your assets.

In short, an investment advisor has a fiduciary obligation to act
in the best interest of its clients. Investment advisors are
required to register either with the Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) or the states in which they operate in and are
regulated under the Investment Advisors Act of 1940. According to
Rule 206 of the Investment Advisors Act of 1940, investment
advisors are considered fiduciaries, and as such, owe their
clients a higher fiduciary duty. What this means in layman's
terms is that advisors must operate in a way that avoids
conflicts of interest, puts their clients' interests ahead of
their own and make a full disclosure of their fees.

On the other hand, brokers (which are registered representatives
of a brokerage firm [or in industry lingo a "broker-dealer"])
are salespeople whose primary responsibility is to help clients
buy and sell securities for their accounts. While there is
nothing wrong with this, investors should be made fully aware
that broker-dealers are subject to the Securities Exchange Act of
1934, a different regulatory rule than for investment advisors.
As such, their principal obligation is to make suitable
recommendations (emphasis ours) to their clients and as such, do
not necessarily owe their clients a fiduciary duty.

I decided to write this piece because the differences between an
investment advisor and a broker-dealer have become quite blurred
over the years. Many broker dealers market themselves as offering
financial advisor or investment consultant services. I think it
is quite critical for the general investing public to know these
differences. Many investors may have a false sense of security
that their "advisor" may be continually managing and acting in
the best interest of their clients, when in reality this may not
be the case. In addition, be aware that just because your broker
may be recommending a suitable security for you, their primary
goal may not be to act in your best interest, but rather to
generate a commission for their employer's brokerage arm.

Are you wondering, "What are the best restaurants in San
Diego", then you've come to the right place. As you might
expect for a city located near the ocean, San Diego is brimming
with great seafood restaurants. However, the city has a lot more
to offer the taste buds than just fish and scallops. San Diego is
also home to fine American, French, Mexican, and Asian cuisine.
There are also quality establishments offering delicious pizza,
burgers, and barbeque.

San Diego Smarts takes a look at 12 of the best restaurants in
the city. Not only do we review San Diego's superlative world
class cuisine, but we also look at restaurants that cater to a
wide range of tastes--both gastronomical and otherwise.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room
  400 J Street
  619-858-2277

The Oceanaire Seafood Room was voted best restaurant of 2009 by
San Diego Magazine. This upscale eatery is renowned for its
exceptional service and its superb wine list. Oceanaire's
inviting menu, which features seasonal ingredients like ahi tuna,
spiny lobster, and Mexican white seabass, is the product of
Executive Chef Sean P. Langlais. This restaurant is open
seven-days a week and has valet parking.

Georges at the Cove
  1250 Prospect Street
  La Jolla, CA 92037
  858-454-4244

Georges at the Cove is three restaurants in one and each has a
great view of the ocean. On the first floor is George's
California Modern, the middle floor is home to George's Bar, and
on the rooftop you'll find Ocean Terrace (think bistro).
Executive Chef Trey Foshee's menu features a bevy of scrumptious
and "intensely seasonal" seafood dishes.

Urban Solace
  3823 30th Street
  619-295-6464

The hip Urban Solace is located north of Downtown in the heart of
North Park's "Restaurant Row." Urban Solace is dedicated to
bringing a neighborhood dining experience to San Diego foodies.
Executive Chef Matt Gordon's menu features classic and cutting
edge American dishes. The restaurant also serves a marvelous
array of wine, crafted beer, and cocktails. Don't forget to

The Perspective of Dawn

Beckon Call Coach
http://www.beckoncall-coach.com/

In the book, Dawn Light, Diane Ackerman states, "whatever else
it is, dawn is a rebirth, a fresh start, even if familiar
routines and worries charge in clamoring for attention." I have
been reading her book to gain appreciation for dawn, sunrise, a
new beginning. Lets face it, after a year with a recession, a new
dawn is a welcome view. Life is about endings and beginnings.

For years, I have been a night owl as opposed to an early bird. I
embrace beautiful sunsets, bur rarely, on purpose, strive to
witness a glorious sunrise. Recently while on a Caribbean cruise,
with Diane Ackerman's book in hand, I challenged myself to be an
early riser to discover the beauty of sunrise rather than my
standard, sunset. It was a chance to try a different perspective.
And, it was rather enjoyable.

Sunrise or Sunset? We generally prefer one or the other. Maybe we
are born into one or another with our biological clock or
experience environmental conditioning. And so it is at work, we
have our preferences. We might prefer a traditional 40-hour
workweek with weekends off. We might enjoy routine work, working
in sales, teaching or mechanical engineering. We use our
preferred skills to get the job done.

Yet, lately, we have had to adapt our preferences at work. We are
being asked to be flexible, to be adaptable, to do more with less
budget, less staff or less job security. The recession has
changed the status quo for many. Some are adjusting to living on
unemployment. Some are trying a new career path or returning to
college. All of this is moving us out of our comfort zone and
asking us to try another way that is not necessarily our first
choice. This is flexing from sunrise to sunset and vise versa.

Are you flexible? Are you adaptable? Do you prefer sunrises or
sunsets? Whether or not you have loss your job this past year, we
have all been impacted by the recession.

What have we learned from the recession?

Reflection - As a society, we often look forward rather than
back. As the dwindling economy was labeled a recession, we looked
back to the days of the Depression for parallels and lessons
learned. There was a sobering appreciation for what people
endured during the 1930's after The Crash.

Flexibility - We tend to get more rigid as we age, physically,
emotionally and mentally. This stance can add to the stress of
change. Can you bend, sway and be pliable when a challenge comes
about. Get conditioned for changing conditions.

Choice - I made a choice to embrace "sunset" rather than
"sunrise" a long time ago. I thought the choice was an
"either-or" proposition. That was not really the case. I made a
choice without giving the other option a chance. Checking our
different perspectives can offer new insight and
personal/professional growth.

Change - It isn't easy as millions found out this year when
their job was eliminated. Exchanging a paycheck for an
unemployment check is not easy. Changing jobs when you enjoyed
the one you had is not easy. Starting over and making concessions
is not easy. Yet, some are ready to start over, to give work
another whirl. Some are trying temporary jobs. Some are trying
the entrepreneurial route. Either way, life and work are about
change.

Jimmy Buffett and His 'Under the Big Top' Tour

Jimmy Buffett's Under The Big Top Tour begins Feb. 20 in
Jacksonville, Florida and is scheduled to end Sept. 4 in Bristow
Virgina.

This is Buffett's umpteenth tour of North America and it's
supporting his latest release, "Buffet Hotel." That's not a
misspelling. "Buffet Hotel" is the name of a hotel in the
landlocked nation of Mali.

Buffett discovered the hotel on a recent trip to West Africa.

Highlights of the 'Under The Big Top' tour include a pair of
Jimmy Buffett concerts in Mansfield, Massachusetts, two Buffett
concerts at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey,
and a Jimmy Buffet show at the Nikon At Jones Beach Theatre in
Wantagh, New York.

For those who have never had tickets to a Jimmy Buffet concert
there are a few things you need to know before you attend. For
those who have attended a Buffet concert here are all the things
you "can't remember."

First, and foremost, Buffett fans are called "Parrotheads."
Young fans, or Parrothead offspring, are called "Parakeets."
The term originated in 1985 at a Jimmy Buffett concert in
Cincinnati, Ohio. It was actually coined by Timothy B. Schmit,
than a member of the Coral Reefer Band and now a member of the
Eagles.

Buffett is lot like the Grateful Dead and Phish in that he's a
touring act. It's better to see him live than listen to his
albums on an iPod. However, Buffett is 63-years-old and sings
about drinking, partying, and drinking. In order to keep himself
above ground, Buffett has adopted a performance schedule that
only includes Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

There are exceptions to this rule. In May, Buffett has a Saturday
night concert in Noblesville, Indiana at the Verizon Wireless
Music Center. Then he performs Monday at the Riverbed Music
Center in Cincinnati.

Nonetheless, if you want to see Buffett in concert keep your
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights open (as well as your
Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday mornings).

The "Big 9" is a term used to describe the nine songs Buffett
usually plays at his shows. Now this doesn't mean that when
Buffett performs in Columbia, South Carolina for example he'll
play all nine of these songs, but chances are very good (at least
historically) that you'll hear the following...

1. "Margaritaville"

2. "Come Monday"

3. "Fins"

4. "Volcano"

5. "A Pirate Looks At Forty"

6. "Cheeseburger in Paradise"

7. "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes"

8. "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere"

9. "One Particular Harbour"

Keep in mind that neither Buffett nor the Coral Refer Band uses
the term "Big 9." The term is completely the construct of
Parrotheads.

Other things to be prepared for at a Jimmy Buffett concert: he
will often start the show with a cover song; sometimes he plays a
song that has a local tie-in (for instance he played "Sweet
Caroline" at a show at Boston's Fenway Park); the second set
usually begins with slower songs; and the band is usually
introduced sometimes in the first encore.

The Best Things You Can Do To Fight Childhood Obesity
Copyright (c) 2010 Ryan Hogan
Parenting Fun 411
http://www.parentingfun411.com/

According to experts, over 60 percent of Americans are
overweight, 31 percent are obese, and nearly 4 million weigh 300
pounds or more. It's obvious that Americans are literally
“living large.”

This new found girth should surprise no one. Large portions of
cheap food are just a drive-thru away. Most of our hobbies
involve sitting in front of a video screen. And you'll be hard
pressed to find a job that doesn't have us tethered to a desk
and slaving away over a computer. As a society we eat poorly and
exercise infrequently.

Sadly, this blubber-welcoming lifestyle is affecting our
nation's children. Childhood obesity rates are on the rise and
so are the diseases associated with them. Now more than ever,
parents must actively watch their children's weight.

Parenting Fun 411 has compiled a list of the best things you can
do to fight childhood obesity. These tips will help you teach
your children the benefits of eating healthy and exercising.

Before proceeding, be aware that these tips are meant to combat
the fat, not to cure it. If your child is morbidly obese you need
to see a doctor. Our tips are still applicable but only after
your child has sought professional help.

Be A Role Model - Your kids follow your lead. So you must set a
good example. That means you need to eat healthy. You need to
exercise. You need to eat multiple servings of vegetables a day.
You need to get out from in front of the television. You must do
all the things you want your kids to do. After all, if you want
your children to fight off childhood obesity you must be fighting
obesity too.

Don't Compare - Don't compare your kids to other kids. It's
detrimental to both their present and future self esteem. You set
up your children for a lifetime of measuring their self-worth by
comparing it to others. Not all kids, even kids the same height,
are meant to be the same shape and/or weight. Everyone is
different. So do your kids a big favor and only compare them to
themselves.

Moderation - Getting your kids to fight off childhood obesity
doesn't mean they can never have a cookie or they can never play
a video game. What it means is they need balance in their life.
Instead of three cookies, they take one. Instead of spending all
day playing video games, they play for an hour. Living healthy
includes being happy and having fun, and sometimes that comes in
the form of junk food and sedimentary activities.

No Diets, Food Choices - You generally don't want to put your
kids on a diet. Instead you want to teach them about making smart
food choices that will stay with them over the course of a
lifetime. Teach them the importance of regular servings of fruits
and vegetables and the difference between proteins and
carbohydrates. Ultimately, you want them to know what they are
putting into their bodies and you want them only eating when
they're hungry.

Don't Reward Your Kids With Food - Rewarding your kids with food
will cause them to not only eat every time they're happy but
every time they're sad too. In fact, they will equate food with
strong emotions and that's never good. You want your kids to eat
only when they're hungry. Now, children inherently know that
they should eat only when their hungry. However, they lose that
ability because adults force them to do stuff like clean their
plate or eat when they are already full.

Include Your Children In The Meal Process - Assuming they're of
the proper age, and they have the inclination, include your
children in the shopping and preparation of meals. Take them with
you when you shop for produce. During your visits to grocery
stores compare the labels of healthy foods to junk foods. If they
enjoy it, have your kids assist you in preparing meals. That's a
great way to get them excited about eating healthy.

Find Enjoyable Physical Activities - As any adult can attest too,
doing exercises and jogging are boring. So to get your child off
the couch find something they enjoy doing-something that gets
their heart rate up and causes them to break a sweat. If your kid
isn't into popular sports like soccer or basketball, find
something else they like, maybe skateboarding or lacrosse. If
that still doesn't work it's time to get creative. If your kid
is a big fan of video games like Halo and Call of Duty maybe they
would like to try paintball. There's no excuse for your kid to
be on the couch and inactive.

Ever hosted a party at your home and didn't have a clue about
how to 'dress up' your dining table? Not to worry - you're not
alone. I recently hosted a barbecue, and while I made sure
everything was completed before the guests arrived, there was one
thing missing: a gorgeous centerpiece on my dining room table. I
once believed the knack for decorating dining tables was a gift
given to only a few people, until I conducted a Google search.
Adorning your table with beautiful decorations is not only
simple, but inexpensive also.

The primary element of making a stunning centerpiece for your
dining table is to get creative. For instance, follow a theme or
make it seasonal. Are you having family over for Thanksgiving?
Then decorate your table with fall-like colors, pumpkins and
leaves. Do you host a barbecue every summer? Consider a Hawaiian
theme and adorn your dining room table with grass skirts, leis
and figurines—whatever you think is suitable to complement your
theme. Dining tables don't always have to be formal; guests like
some panache at your party.

Use Accessories!

Flowers. Tablecloths. Candles. Placemats. Fabrics. Fruits.
Veggies. Making a dining table centerpiece is easy, as there are
so many decorations to choose from. Nevertheless, if you're not
a very creative person, keep in mind that enhancing your table
doesn't have to be a laborious task—just a few embellishments
will suffice. Will your guests actually sit at the table for
dinner, or are you using it as a spot to place food? If the
former, you'll need to make sure the centerpiece isn't too
tall; otherwise, your guests will be stretching their necks just
to make eye contact with one another. Remember that less is more.
Dining tables that are too busy with over-the-top decorations
look tacky.

Ask for Professional Help

If you still don't trust your creative side, ask for help. While
the Web offers great ideas for dining table centerpieces, you can
always ask an associate at an arts and crafts store. Dining
tables look great when they're enhanced with decorations, but
don't get stressed about the project. Include various design
elements, such as balance and proportion, light, texture, color,
and form.

Simple Tips for a Creative Centerpiece

  * Use Food as a Decorative Item - Simple and fun, food always
provides some color and creativity to your centerpiece. From
lemons, to apples, to pomegranates and beyond, use food that
you'll actually eat, too.

  * Use Everyday Aromas - All too often, homeowners try out a new
scent for the home and place it on their dining table, but it's
either not enough or too much. In addition, they are usually
artificial, which is bad for your health and the environment.
Instead, use natural, inexpensive scents, such as dried lavender
or dried rosemary, and place in a decorative pot.

  * Keep Away from Matching Decorations - Contrary to what you
might believe, matching items for your overall dining table
centerpiece is too cutesy. Live on the edge - get super creative
and use all sorts of accessories that already exist in your home.
This not only provides a little added flair, but also helps you
save money.

  * Use Fresh Flowers - If you enjoy getting flowers from your
significant other, then you'll love having fresh flowers on your
dining table. Pick them from your garden or buy some at the local
florist; get artistic with your own floral arrangement.

Enjoy Your Dining Table

Once your dining room table decorations are finished, it's time
to have some fun and throw a party. Be confident that your table
is creative and fun. More than just a decoration, making a
centerpiece can even be a therapeutic experience!

Treatments For Stretch Marks: Is Carboxytherapy The Solution?

Natural Way of Getting Rid Of Cellulite
http://www.naturalwayofgettingridofcellulite.com/

Many people are using carboxytherapy treatments for stretch marks
these days as a way to reduce and remove the appearance of
stretch marks. Stretch marks are not just a problem for women who
have had children. Those who have had sudden weight gains, growth
spurts, or muscle gains can also be stuck with them. Therefore,
it is important for many people to know their options, including
carboxytherapy, in relation to these troublesome blemishes.

What is carboxytherapy?

Well, in simple terms, it is the injection of carbon dioxide for
treatment of skin problems such as cellulite, scars, and of
course, stretch marks. It works because its unique functions help
to increase skin elasticity, help with collagen repair, and also
minimizes wrinkles and blemishes at the same time. It does so by
increasing blood circulation in the areas where it is injected.
This simple treatment can provide all of the benefits listed
earlier, and then some!

How effective is it?

The next question that many people have has to do with the actual
effectiveness of carboxytherapy. After all, most people who deal
with the presence of stretch marks on their skin are skeptical of
a treatment that is rooted in such basic logic. How can something
so simple be effective? As explained before, though, the results
are firmly rooted in basic science and are undeniable. Whether
you are worried about stretch marks, wrinkles, dark circles under
your eyes, or a number of other problems, you will see
improvement very quickly with this treatment.

How much does it cost?

Because carboxytherapy is a very simple procedure for an
experienced specialist and it only takes 15 to 30 minutes for a
treatment, the cost is pretty affordable. A treatment will
generally cost about $100-150, although the total cost will
obviously vary according to how many treatments you require. This
can depend on how ambitious your goals are, as well as the
severity and number of your stretch marks, too.

Where can you get it done?

To find out where you can get such a treatment, you should
usually check with medical spas in your area as a starting point,
or speak with your dermatologist if you prefer to go that route.
You can also search online for places that perform the procedure
in your area, which can be a good way to find someplace close by
that can help you.

Although the procedure was developed and perfected outside of the
United States, those within the United States will notice that
since the procedure became prevalent a year or so ago, many
places have begun offering it. Outside of the U.S. in countries
like Brazil and England, it is a quite common procedure, as well.

Are there any negative side effects?

One great aspect of carboxytherapy is that it is a procedure that
utilizes the natural substance of carbon dioxide in a safe
manner. This means that there are no side effects to the
procedure, and you will not have to alter your lifestyle after
treatments or worry about any kind of negative experiences
associated with many dermatological treatments that help with
scarring.

Carboxytherapy treatments for stretch marks are growing in
popularity for many reasons. For one, many people have stretch
marks, including a very high percentage of women who have had
children, and a large number of men, as well. Also, the procedure
is affordable, which makes it accessible to those from a wide
variety of economic backgrounds, too.

Of course, most importantly, the procedure is safe and it works.
It is a very effective way of reducing and removing the
appearance of any annoying stretch marks without having to
undergo some sort of painful, expensive or invasive procedure,
which is very important to many people these days!

VoIP Phone Systems - The Future Is in Your Hands

Year by year, a new gadget or gizmo is introduced in telephone
technology. From mobile phones, to text messaging, to smart
phones and beyond, telephones have evolved into a brilliant means
of multi-faceted communication. VoIP phone systems (stands for
Voice over Internet Protocol) have changed the way businesses -
both large and small - communicate. Affordable, portable and easy
to use, VoIP technology is the phone of the future.

Starting a small business is a challenge in and of itself - from
office supplies and overhead, to staff salaries, to everyday
operations, there's a lot a business owner must juggle in order
to successfully manage a small business. 'Hiccups' often come
with maintaining a business; therefore, it's important to find
providers that offer VoIP phone systems strictly to smaller
companies. You deserve undivided attention from VoIP specialists
without having to compete with larger corporations. In other
words, the VoIP company you use should level the playing field
for your small business.

Owning a small business isn't easy, especially in today's
economy. Companies are folding left and right, and staying afloat
- let alone being profitable - is rather grueling. VoIP phone
systems are practical for businesses looking to cut cost wherever
possible. For a low monthly fee, you'll enjoy all the features
of a traditional land line, as well as long distance calling,
without paying extra. Enjoy call waiting, call holding,
conference calling, caller identification, call forwarding and
much more for a flat rate each month. VoIP technology makes
everyday relations affordable and easy.

Another benefit of VoIP phone systems that small businesses
appreciate is portability. Oftentimes, travel is an important
part of owning a business, and to maintain professionalism, you
need a reliable and clear means of communication when you're
away from the office. Mobile phones are advantageous but not
always dependable. With IP phones, you can plug your phone into
your computer and instantly receive/make phone calls - all you
need is a broadband connection. VoIP technology allows you to
take the office with you wherever you travel - and that is
important for small business owners trying to sustain client
relations.

When it comes to communications - whether amongst colleagues or
customers - you need a phone system that is easy to use. VoIP
technology takes the guesswork out of a business phone system.
Gone are the days of blankly staring at your office phone without
a clue as to how to operate it; VoIP phones are user-friendly and
include all sorts of business features. When looking for a
provider of VoIP phone systems, make sure the company customizes
your plan according to your business's needs.

Stop paying too much for your office phone system; instead, enjoy
all the features of a traditional land line at a fraction of the
cost. VoIP technology puts the future in your hands - literally.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Dublim has a passion for technology, and for business
communication. He gladly recommends Voip Phone Systems
(http://www.vocalocity.com/voip-guide/voip-phone-systems/),
and prefers systems that use hosted PBX
(http://www.vocalocity.com/small-business-voip/hosted-pbx/).

How To Meet Or Exceed The Estimated MPG On Your Vehicle

With gasoline at or above $4.00 per gallon, all of us are
painfully aware of the effect of fuel prices on our budgets.
Suddenly the fuel efficiency or lack thereof of a SUV, Hummer, or
large car becomes painfully evident. Even with a fuel-efficient
small car, the impact on our wallets catches almost everyone's
attention.

Most of us simply cannot run down to the local car dealer and buy
a brand new, highly fuel-efficient hybrid car. Somehow, we just
have to make the best of what we have available to us. In this
article, I am going to assume that you are just like me, and I am
going to assume you need to figure out how to get the best gas
mileage out of the vehicle you have in your driveway. So, what
can YOU do TODAY to reduce your cost of driving from here to
there and back?

Slow Down. What? S...L...O...W... D...O...W...N (Taxi Humor)

When you have to drive your car, the single thing that you can do
to most dramatically reduce the cost per mile is to SLOW DOWN. I
know that you didn't want to hear that, did you? Whether
commuting or traveling on the interstate, we all want to keep up
with the traffic, which is probably going 10 to 20 mph above the
speed limit, if traffic conditions allow it.

Many decades ago traffic jams began to back things up on the
Golden Gate Bridge and traffic engineers began exploring ideas on
how to move more cars across the bridge in less time. The answer
was to reduce the speed limit from 50+ to 40 or less. With less
distance between the cars at the slower speed, the total number
of cars per hour across the bridge went UP dramatically.

Every car consumes energy to run. For most of us this means
gasoline. The engine-transmission-rear end-power train
combination requires a certain amount of fuel per second for any
given speed. While the specific data varies for each power train
combination, a graph of speed versus miles per gallons
(http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/driveHabits.shtml) shows the
maximum miles per gallon (and the lowest fuel cost per mile)
occurs between 45 and 60 miles per hour. Above 60 the MPG drops
rapidly.

For some cars, the computer and the instrument panel can team up
to show your estimated MPG data, in real time. If you have the
information available look at it - it can help you understand how
to achieve the most fuel-efficient operation of your vehicle, in
whatever conditions you drive.

According to the DOE/EPA web site (http://www.fueleconomy.gov),
aggressive driving (high acceleration, high speed, rapid braking)
can reduce you gas mileage by as much as 33%. If you drive with
tire squealing starts, 80-mph interstate cruising speeds, and
"stand on the brakes" stops - you are paying a dear price at
the gas pump.

If you hate $4.00/gallon, eliminating these fuel inefficiencies
could give you the equivalent of $3.08/gallon gas. Does that
sound good to you? All you have to do is slow down. Now, slowing
down to 60 may feel a bit frustrating at first, but just think of
all the dollars you are saving, every time you get into your car!
What's really important to you... fast acceleration and fast
driving, or lower driving costs and more driving distance?

Minimize Drive Time

Aside from riding your bike to the grocery store, instead of the
car, you can also reduce your car's expense by carefully
planning your errands to minimize your total miles driven. Make
one Saturday errand trip rather than 3 or 4. Think ahead. Shop
once a month, instead of twice a week, or only stop at the store
on your way home from work. You would be amazed at how much fuel
you can save by reducing your need to drive.

Properly Inflate Your Tires

What else can you do? Check your tire pressure and adjust to the
recommended pressures. Soft tires consume more energy flexing and
rolling than hard tires. The Owner's Manual lists the
recommended tire pressures, and there is an information plate on
the car, usually around the driver's door, giving the same
information.

Get a tire pressure gage and check the tire pressure in each tire
when it's cold. Record the pressures and note how many PSI below
recommended pressure each tire is. Drive to a service station.
Recheck the pressure in each tire - it will probably have gone up
some from the initial cold check as rolling and friction warmed
the tire. ADD air to each tire to increase the pressure by the
number of pounds each tire was low as recorded above (even if the
new hot pressure is higher than the recommended cold pressure).

Make Your Car More Aerodynamic - Reduce Drag

Another savings idea - reduce vehicle drag as much as possible by
removing car top luggage containers, ski racks, etc. If you feel
you must use such devices, understand there is no free lunch - it
will cost you in reduced fuel economy. Also, reduce the total
vehicle weight as much as possible by removing any unnecessary
weight in your vehicle. If you put sand bags in the trunk during
the winter, to improve your traction on snow and ice, get them
out of your vehicle when the ice and snow have gone.

Good Maintenance

Keep your engine running in good order. That means regular
tune-ups, air filter changes, and proper oil viscosity selection.
Remember, every little bit helps.

Other Resources

A number of web sites offer other information. See
(http://www.fueleconomy.gov/) for U.S. Government data and for
suggestions from Consumer Reports, try:
/green-car-guide/green-car=guide.htm)

Don't Be Duped - Avoid Magic Bullets

If there are DOs, there must also be DON'Ts. We love to believe
in magic potions, silver bullets, and conspiracies. For
generations we have been bombarded with commercials and
advertisements about stuff to dump in the radiator, in the oil,
in the gas, or hang on the car, which will fix our problems and
make everything much better. Some of these things work,
sometimes. More often than not, they offer false hope and little,
if any, practical benefits.

One of the recent popular subjects is running you car on water.
Many web sites talk about hydrogen-oxygen powered engines,
hydrogen boost from water, etc. It is true that burning hydrogen
produces heat, and water is a by-product of that process. Some
automobile manufacturers are even experimenting with hydrogen
engines, fuel cell propulsion systems, etc.

However, the basic method of getting hydrogen gas, in the "water
powered car", is electrolysis of water using an electric
current. Unfortunately, the electrolysis process requires more
electrical energy to separate the hydrogen and oxygen out of the
water than you will gain by burning the gases in an engine.

Yes, it is true that some people are claiming fantastic results
using the water-powered car technology, but you may also note
that most the people making these claims are the same people that
are hoping you will spend your money with them.

They say, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
Wait until these technologies are well proven, by reliable and
independent testing facilities, before depending on them to save
you money or reduce the operational expenses of your car.

Final Thoughts

If at the end of the month, you can increase your MPG and/or
decrease the miles you drive, you will save money.

Studies have shown that the average person can increase their
fuel mileage by at least 30%, by simply changing the way they
drive. If you can increase your fuel mileage by a mere 30%, then
you can expect to save about $23 per month on every $100 you
currently spend on gasoline for your vehicles.

If you can drive 20% fewer miles than what you drive right now,
you could expect to save another $15 on every $100 spent.

If you drive as much as my wife and I drive, you can expect to
save $46 per month, on your monthly $200 gasoline expense, just
by improving MPG by 30%. Then by cutting your driving distance by
only 20% per month, you could expect to gain another $30 savings,
bringing your overall fuel savings to $76 per month.

Every dollar counts these days.

We are not stopping at simply trying to increase our fuel
mileage. There are actually people in this world who are beating
the Estimated MPG on their vehicles, sometimes by as much as
+100%. We will be happy if we can simply beat the Estimated MPG
on our vehicles by a mere 20%. Think of it this way; every gallon
of gasoline saved is $4 earned! And I am all for increasing our
earning power!

It is not always necessary to change auto insurance companies to
save money on car insurance. Getting a better price elsewhere
often encourages insurance agents to offer additional discounts
to existing customers. For Oklahoma drivers, the website
http://cheapoklahomaautoinsurance.com/ can help them with the
auto insurance quotes research process. For consumers in other
states, try http://maxroo.com/updates/auto-insurance-quotes/

Stretch Mark Removal FAQ: Answers To The Most Asked Stretch Marks Questions
Copyright (c) 2010 Cavyl Stewart
Natural Way of Getting Rid Of Cellulite
http://www.naturalwayofgettingridofcellulite.com/

For anyone who has acquired the annoying blemishes, stretch mark
removal is an important subject. Fortunately, for every question
on stretch marks and how to be rid of them, there's a good
answer. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions on
the topic.

Can stretch marks go away?

This is almost always the most often asked question regarding
stretch marks. The truth is that stretch marks do not simply go
away; at least not completely. What stretch marks do, however, is
fade. While you will probably always be able to see where the
marks are if you are looking hard for them, they will fade over
time and become less and less noticeable. In the cases of many
people, they become hard to see at all.

How can you naturally get rid of stretch marks?

Just as your stretch marks are unlikely to completely disappear
on their own, there are only so many things that you can do to
help them disappear, especially with natural treatments. One of
the most recommended stretch mark treatments using natural
products definitely is to use cocoa butter. A lot of times, cocoa
butter can be found inexpensively in stick form, if you look at a
few stores.

How strong of an acid chemical peel is needed to get rid of
stretch marks?

Another common question in regards to stretch mark removal has to
do with acid chemical peels, or in particular, what strength is
needed to remove stretch marks. While all stretch marks are
different and there is no one correct answer because of that,
it's generally true that deeper, more severe scars require
chemical peels of greater intensity. There are at-home chemical
peel kits, but you will probably get best results after
consulting with a dermatologist.

How can you prevent stretch marks?

A lot of people smartly focus on preventing stretch marks, rather
than worrying about what to do after they appear. In a lot of
cases, stretch marks are not something you can control, as with
growth spurts and other times. During pregnancies or other times
where they may appear, you can prevent them as much as possible
by using cocoa butter during the process, which may not always
prevent them altogether, but will help them to be less severe for
sure.

What's the best way to hide stretch marks?

One way to hide stretch marks is with good, old fashioned makeup.
If you are going to be swimming or doing a similar activity where
this isn't an option, simply try to select clothes or a swimsuit
which will obscure them as much as possible. Also, you can use
spray-on tan substances and see good results in many cases.

Is Vitamin E good for stretch marks?

Vitamin E is actually a great way to both diminish stretch marks
and to keep new ones from occurring. This is for a couple of
reasons, but the most simple way to explain it is that Vitamin E
makes your skin firmer (to resist tearing) yet also more elastic
(to help it cope with the stretching).

Does Bio Oil really work for stretch marks?

Bio Oil is often recommended to those that want to get rid of
stretch marks, but everyone wants to know whether it works before
taking the plunge. Many people have reported good results, as
long as the product is used twice daily and you follow the
instructions. Of course, less severe scars will always show the
most improvement, but that's true with any treatment!

How can you get rid of stretch marks at home?

There are a lot of good ways to do this. As mentioned earlier,
cocoa butter as well as Vitamin E are great options that can be
done at home. Some people also combine virgin olive oil, aloe
vera, and Vitamins E and A into an ointment to rub into their
skin, and they swear by the technique.

What is the best way to get rid of stretch marks?

This answer really depends on a couple of things. Mainly, it
depends on the severity of your stretch marks and how ambitious
your goals are. There's no beating laser treatment or plastic
surgery for results, but if that's not in your price range, or
your stretch marks aren't that serious, other remedies such as
stretch mark removal cream and treatments are also great.

How do you get rid of stretch marks from pregnancy?

Stretch marks from pregnancy can be treated just like any other
stretch marks. They aren't really different in any meaningful
way. The main difference is that you know that they may happen,
so you can take preventative measures with lotions and cocoa
butter to keep them from becoming worse than they need to be!

Now you have all of the basic information that you need to know
about stretch mark removal. You don't have to be self-conscious
of your stretch marks for the rest of your life! Try some of
these methods, and you may be surprised by the results.

The Book of Kells is a beautifully illustrated work which was
hand-written around the year 800 A.D. The book has been divided
into four volumes and is a Latin copy of the four gospels of the
Bible.

You can see an excerpt of the Book of Kells in a year-round
exhibit at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Two volumes are
typically open for viewing in dim light to conserve the pages.
One volume is opened to illustrated pages and one is opened to
pages of text. Five hundred thousand visitors view the book each
year.

When my children and I visited Dublin, we made a stop to see the
Book of Kells as part of our tour of the city. We took the Dublin
Bus Tour and got off at Trinity College as well as the Dublin Zoo
and the Guinness Brewery. The bus tour allowed us to stop and
explore each site before catching another bus when we were
finished.

The Book of Kells exhibit includes interesting historical
information. We learned that scholars have debated the origin of
the Book of Kells. Monks in the monastery of Iona, off the west
coast of Scotland, and in the monastery of Kells in County Meath,
Ireland, are believed to have been the makers of the book.
However, the two monasteries were run as a single community for
many years, so the book may have been written at one or both
locations.

The pictures and patterns in the Book of Kells are more numerous
and lavish than other illuminated gospels. Quaint figures of
people and angels, monsters and animals are found throughout the
volumes to illustrate the life of Christ.

There are 680 pages in the Book of Kells. The vellum (prepared
calf-skin) pages are decorated and written on at both sides. Pens
made from reeds, quills or feathers were probably used. Ink was
made from plant juices. The book pages are 13-1/2 inches by 9 1/2
inches. It is estimated that the book took more than thirty years
to complete.

The book was stolen at one point in time and was retrieved after
a rebellion which destroyed the church at Kells. Around 1653, the
book was sent to Dublin for safekeeping. It was taken to Trinity
College a few years later. It has been on display in the Old
Library at Trinity College from the mid 19th century.

After you see the book at Trinity College, make sure you walk
upstairs through the "Long Room" of the library, which contains
over 200,000 of Trinity's oldest books. The room is an amazing
site to see. Bookshelves go from floor to the two-story high
timbered ceiling. The room is 213 feet long and 42 feet wide.

You might also want to take the student-led tour of Trinity
College while you are there. You will have an interesting look at
the college and hear about its legends. The college was founded
by Queen Elizabeth in 1592 to "civilize" Dublin. The building
of the college was seen as an attempt at British religious
colonialism and only Protestants were admitted for nearly three
centuries. Today, however, most of the students at Trinity are
Catholics. Apparently the Queen's attempt at control ultimately
did not succeed.

If you get a chance to see the Book of Kells while you are in
Dublin, make the trip to Trinity College. The intricate
calligraphy and brilliant colors in the illustrations make the
book a work of medieval art not to be missed.

Understanding Uninsured Motorist And Underinsured Motorist Insurance Coverage

Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Underinsured Motorist Insurance (UIM)
are often the most under-appreciated and misunderstood forms of
insurance available to consumers.

I recall as a child, an uncle who had worked for an insurance
agency declared to my parents that Uninsured Motorist (UM) and
Underinsured Motorist (UIM) insurance coverage were a complete
waste of money. I know that we are supposed respect our elders,
but I must respectfully disagree with my uncle. Let me explain
why.

An Uninsured Motorist is defined as any driver who did not have
any insurance at all, had insurance that did not meet the
state-mandated minimum liability requirements, or whose insurance
company denied the claim to the insured motorist, and the driver
was financially unable to pay for medical expenses or damages on
their own.

According to the Insurance Research Council, the estimated number
of uninsured drivers may reach as high as 25% of the drivers on
the road today, across the United States.

Underinsured Motorist refers to a motorist, who had the state
mandated minimum liability insurance and was at fault, but their
insurance policy will not provide enough coverage to cover the
full bodily injury costs or property damages of everyone involved
in the accident.

Under the umbrella of UM and UIM insurance, you will find two
different options: Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury (UMBI) and
Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD). While it is possible
to purchase UMBI insurance separate from UMPD insurance, you will
not be able to purchase UMPD insurance without also purchasing
UMBI insurance.

UMBI insurance will pay for injuries to you or your passengers,
when there is an accident that is the other person's fault and
the person-at-fault is either uninsured or underinsured. A
hit-and-run driver is also considered to be an uninsured
motorist, as it relates to bodily injury and UMBI insurance.

UMPD insurance will pay for property damages to your vehicle,
when the party-at-fault has no insurance or not enough insurance
to cover your property damage repair or replacement expenses.

When purchasing Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Underinsured Motorist
(UIM) insurance coverage, be sure to verify whether it also
covers UMPD expenses and the level of coverage offered with the
plan. The standard uninsured motorist insurance package will vary
from company to company. So ask for specifics about the uninsured
motorist insurance package that is being offered to you.

Insurance agents, with most auto insurance companies, are
required to make a consumer sign documentation that affirms the
consumer's rejection of Uninsured Motorist Insurance Coverage.
This provides a measure of protection to the insurance company,
when the consumer realizes that his or her normal insurance
policy will not cover bodily injury or property damage, when the
fault for the accident is the result of the uninsured or
underinsured motorist.

With up to 25% of the motorists on our roads being either
uninsured or underinsured, the chances of being involved in a
collision with an uninsured or underinsured motorist is 1-in-4.

Consumer advocates suggest that the average person will be
involved in at least one traffic accident during the course of
his or her lifetime. So the day will likely come that you will be
involved in a traffic accident.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,
there were more than 6 million auto accidents on American roads
during 2009. For those of you who have not really thought about
it, that means that there was one traffic accident in the U.S.
during 2009, for every 50 residents of the United States.

Another statistic worth noting is that nearly 34,000 people were
killed in traffic accidents during 2009, in the United States.

I don't know about you, but I would prefer to do my gambling in
a casino, where I can have absolute control over how much money I
am willing to lose. I certainly don't want to gamble with my
personal finances, while I am behind the wheel of my car, by
assuming that the guy in the next car has the liability insurance
that he is required to have. With a 1-in-4 chance of coming out
on the short end of the stick in a traffic accident, personally I
think that those kinds of odds are just too high to risk saving a
few dollars by rejecting Uninsured Motorist Insurance Coverage.

As for you, that is your choice... You can choose to reject
Uninsured Motorist Insurance Coverage to save a few bucks on your
insurance premium or not...

When comparing auto insurance quotes, be certain that you are
always comparing apples-to-apples. When you understand what your
auto insurance quote covers, you can make an educated decision
about which auto insurance company is offering you the best value
for your money. You can get auto insurance quotes from several

Stop Stressing - Building Your Support Team

One of the most difficult facts about building strong habits is
that so much of it lies directly on our shoulders. We have to
exercise the willpower to reduce the influence of stress in our
lives; we have to make the choices that will help us feel better
at the end of the day. However, many of us focus so much on this
challenge that we forget that there are other people in our lives
willing to help us, if we just let them.

There are many ways that we can allow others to help and
encourage us in our efforts. The ultimate responsibility may come
down on our shoulders, but that doesn't mean we're islands that
have to stand entirely on our own. Families, friends, and oddly
enough even entire strangers can be an amazing resource in our
efforts to de-stress our lives. Here, we focus on some of the
ways we can build a strong support group as we endeavor to kick
the stress habit.

Step 1 - Don't Be Embarrassed

There is no shame at all in asking for help with a problem.
Houses are built by large teams, cars are designed by groups, and
town councils usually have more than one member. A big enough
project will benefit from having outside help, so there's no
harm in asking for a little of it. After all, wouldn't you feel
honored and pleased if your friends came to you for your help and
advice?

As you decide who you want to ask for help, take the following
habit building step if you feel embarrassed or worried about
asking for help. Remind yourself of something you've done to
help someone else and recognize that this is no different. Affirm
that it's not a weakness to ask for help with something
important. Do this every time you need to ask for help, and in
time it will be part of the healthy habit of seeking out others'
support.

Step 2 - Start Close

Easy steps are the best way to build a new, strong habit. Having
to bend and wrack yourself to bring a new element into your life
is a surefire way to get discouraged, so it's best to start
where you feel comfortable. For the first member of your support
group, choose someone you already trust with things you need help
with. A friend you're used to talking to or a family member you
confide in regularly is a great choice because the connection
will feel natural. This will help the habit grow naturally,
instead of being forced into your life.

Step 3 - Rely on Experience

Again, there's no sense in making more work for yourself than
necessary. The goal is to reduce stress, not increase it! When
picking out your stress support team, consider asking for help
from someone who has dealt with stress themselves, or may even be
dealing with it now. Their insights will give you a fresh angle
on things, and you will both be able to share that sense of
camaraderie that comes with mutual understanding of a problem.

Step 4 - Keep it Light, and Be Flexible

Remember that your support group isn't your life-instructor.
They're friends you've chosen to help you as you deal with your
problem, not to deal with it for you. Don't feel you have to
talk to them nonstop about everything. Instead, set up a time to
talk once or twice a week. This will give you time to build up
things to talk about, so the conversations can be more varied and
dynamic, but will also be frequent enough not to leave you
hanging when needed.

As you speak to your support friends, remember to keep the
conversation flexible as well. If you need to talk to them about
things that are stressing you and worrying you, do so. Getting it
out can help matters, and let you talk through to solutions. On
the other hand, sometimes the best therapy is just a friendly
conversation about the newest movie or a great book you've both
read. Talk about what feels natural, and most relaxing for you,
instead of feeling you have to focus on talking points.

Step 5 - Help Your Team Grow

Numbers aren't everything, and bigger may not always be better,
but you want your support group to grow beyond an initial one or
two people. Different people have different experiences that you
can draw upon, and having an assortment of confidantes who can
help you out is of greater benefit than relying solely on one
person.

Consider adding a new link in your support chain each week for
the next two months. Sixty days is the upper limit of a good
habit building timeline, so by the time you've gathered these
eight helpers around you, you'll be very used to seeking out
their advice and the whole process will feel very second nature.
And once you've acquired these habits, you will have an even
stronger network of friends to form a lifelong safety net against
stress.. Good luck, and healthy habits to you.

Understanding the State-Mandated Minimum Auto Liability Insurance
Copyright (c) 2010 Quinton Becker
Maxroo
http://maxroo.com/updates/

It has been estimated that as many as 15% of all drivers on the
road in the United States do not have liability insurance for
their vehicle. Of course, that estimation does not take into
account drivers in New Hampshire and Wisconsin, who in previous
years were not required by the state government to carry
liability insurance on their personal vehicles.

Beginning June 1, 2010, drivers in Wisconsin will be required by
the state to carry liability insurance protection for their
vehicles. That will leave New Hampshire as the only state that
does not require motorists to carry automotive liability
insurance.

Yet, there were more than 6 million recorded traffic accidents in
the United States in 2009 - roughly equal to one accident for
every 50 people living and working in the United States.

According to statistics produced by the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration, there were nearly 34,000 traffic
fatalities on American roadways during 2009.

Despite these grim odds, most people who purchase auto insurance
for their personal vehicles will only purchase the state-mandated
minimum liability insurance protection, with the minimum-coverage
required by the state.

What most people do not realize is that the minimum state
requirements for liability insurance could very well fall short
of what is required to pay the medical expenses and property
damage of the other party.

Additionally, most people do not realize that if the insurance
company fails to cover all of the required medical expenses and
property damages, then the injured party can sue you for the
difference, if you were at fault.

In a state of Wyoming, the minimum state requirements for
liability insurance are 25/50/20. The first two numbers, the
25/50, referred to bodily injury liability limits, and the third
number refers to the property damage liability limit.

What this actually means to the consumer is that the state
mandated liability requirements will cover up to $25,000 per
individual injured in a traffic accident and up to $50,000 for
everyone involved in the accident, who needed medical treatment.

The third number, in the case of Wyoming's minimum state
requirements for automotive liability insurance, indicates that
the insurance company will only be liable up to $20,000 for any
property damage related to a motor vehicle accident that was the
fault of their client.

If you consider the cost of medical care in the United States
today, Wyoming's minimum liability insurance requirements for
medical coverage may not fully protect your personal finances, in
a worst-case scenario traffic accident.

Additionally, when new cars frequently cost more than $25,000 to
purchase, as is the case today, then Wyoming's minimum
requirement of $20,000 coverage for property damage could very
well fall terribly short of what is required to repair or replace
the other person's vehicle or other property.

If you were to buy the minimum auto liability insurance, as
required by the state of Wyoming, you could be leaving yourself
with inadequate liability insurance coverage and financial
protection.

Many consumer advocates recommend a minimum of 100/300 for bodily
injury protection to ensure that you will be financially
protected in the event of an auto accident. Advocates also
recommend a minimum of $50,000 for property damage, in the event
that an accident is your fault.

The smallest amount required by any state for medical liability
is 10/20/10 liability coverage, available to residents of
Florida.

The state with the highest liability insurance coverage
requirements are Wisconsin, which is just introducing mandatory
automotive liability insurance and is entering the fray with the
highest minimum liability protection in the United States at
50/100/55. Behind Wisconsin is Alaska and Maine, which both
require a minimum of 50/100/25.

The state-required minimums for automotive liability insurance
give a false impression, concerning how much risk an individual
is actually taking on, when they get behind the wheel of the car.

Liability insurance is often the smallest portion of our total
automotive insurance premium. Getting additional liability
insurance is usually pretty inexpensive. But given the high cost
of medical expenses and vehicle replacement, it may be in your
best interest to spend a few more dollars to get some additional
liability insurance protection.

While it may be possible to reduce your insurance rates by
reducing your liability coverage, it is not recommended that you
to do so. For most people, it may actually make far more sense to
increase liability coverage, rather than to reduce liability
coverage.

To see the minimum required coverage amounts of liability
insurance protection for drivers around the country, see our list
of the minimum liability requirements for all 50 states here:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
For those who are looking to save money on auto insurance, the
best advice is to get several quotes from as many insurance
carriers as possible, since automotive insurance policy pricing
can vary by as much as several hundred dollars from company to
company. Oklahoma drivers can compare auto insurance quotes at

Brake Pads Are An Essential Element of Your Car's Safety Equipment

Brake pads are an integral element of the braking system in a
car. As you use your brakes in everyday driving, you will slowly
wear down, and, eventually, need to replace the brake pads.

Disc brakes have been used on the front wheels of cars for
decades now - some models are even equipped with disc brakes on
all four wheels. You will still find some cars being made with
disc brakes at the front and drum brakes on the rear wheels. The
reason for this is that the front wheels carry the biggest
portion of the load under braking conditions, and disk brakes are
more effective.

Since the front wheels, and thereby the disc brakes, carry the
biggest portion of the load under braking conditions, it is
critical that your front brakes are operating as well as
possible. When it comes to your car's brakes, there is simply no
room for substandard or worn out parts.

Older cars that had disc brakes on the front were equipped with
what was referred to as a "squeaker bar" on the brake pad. This
piece of metal would make an extremely loud squeaking noise once
the brake pads were worn down. This was how you knew that it was
time to replace your worn-out pads. Cars today come with an
electronic sensor on the brake pad. When your brakes have worn
down, you will see a warning light on your dashboard.

When this dashboard light is illuminated, or when you start
hearing a squeak upon brake application, it is time for you to
have your brake pads replaced. If you wait to do so, you are not
only causing damage to the brake as a whole, but you are taking a
big safety risk.

If your car is equipped with a wear sensor in the brake pads, you
will want to have this sensor replaced along with the pads. The
sensor is not generally included with the new pads. If you wait
for your brake pads to wear down completely, they will begin to
damage your disc rotor - the replacement of which is costly.

When you press your brake pedal down, the pistons on your brake
caliper will push the brake pad down against the brake disc.
Ultimately, the pads pressing against the disc is what slows and
stops your car. As you can imagine, this process results in the
deterioration of your pads. This is how brake pads are supposed
to work; they are not intended to last the life of your car.

Brake pads are made from a variety of materials. You can purchase
pads made from longer-lasting materials if you wish. Those of
higher quality also help your car to stop more quickly under
heavy braking conditions. Choosing the highest quality brake
parts is a smart decision for your safety. Even if you own a
Chrysler, you can use aftermarket brakes that will outperform the
factory Chrysler parts. Chrysler parts work fine for most
drivers, but performance enthusiasts and those who want extra
stopping power, will often opt for aftermarket brake parts.

Be sure to use a great deal of care when replacing your brake
parts. If you do not feel comfortable with your own mechanical
skills, it may be best to have a professional install the new
parts for you. Working on your own brakes is not the time to test
your mechanical aptitude. If your brakes are installed
incorrectly, they may fail and cause a severe accident.

It is recommended that you have your brakes checked each time
your vehicle's oil is changed - about every 6,000 miles. This
quick inspection, paired with proper maintenance of your brake
pads, will prevent problems down the road, ensuring the safety of
you and your family.

It is not always necessary to change auto insurance companies to
save money on car insurance. Getting a better price elsewhere
often encourages insurance agents to offer additional discounts
to existing customers. For Oklahoma drivers, the website

auto insurance quotes research process. For consumers in other

3 Courses of Action For an Unhappy Relationship

Unhappy relationships are nearly unavoidable. It is a very rare
occurrence for two people to both meet, fall in love, and live
happily ever after without ever having dated anyone else. The
reality is that if you are actively dating, you're going to
probably end up in an unhappy relationship eventually. For some
people, they may have to go through several bad relationships
before finding the right one.

If you are facing an unhappy relationship, then there are three
courses of action you can take:

#1 - Do Nothing

While it is never advisable to do nothing in a bad relationship,
it is an option that you can choose. Realize though that nothing
gets better on its own. If you're currently miserable, then you
will most likely remain that way until you choose one of the
other courses of action.

Why do people choose to stay in an unhappy relationship? They do
so simply because it is easier. The other two options take work
and can be painful or even scary. However, both often bring far
better outcomes than this first option.

#2 - You Could Leave

People always make excuses to stay - even in the worst
relationships. So making the decision to leave is often
accompanied by a lot of trepidation. Unhappiness, fighting,
depression, and many other factors eventually force many people
to leave their relationship. The biggest thing for you to do is
determine whether or not the relationship is worth it in terms of
being able to be repaired. If the relationship cannot be, then it
would be best for you to leave. Spending your life being
miserable is not worth making the sacrifice to stay with a bad
partner.

#3 Work Things Out

Finally, you may choose to work things out with your partner.
This requires a complete commitment from both of you in order to
make things better. Of the three courses, this is definitely the
most difficult and will require constant effort from both you and
your partner. However, for a good relationship that is simply
experiencing rough times, this is the most rewarding way to go!

Has 3D Gaming Finally Arrived?

In the future, when people write about this period in history,
they will probably have to create a minor footnote for 3D. And
the main reason being the top grossing film Avatar, which has
brought 3D back into the forefront and placed it firmly on
everyone's mind.

You have to say "back" because 3D images and movies have been
around for a long, long time. For example, not many people know
the first patent for a 3D process was made way back in the late
1890s, by William Friese-Greene, who was a pioneer in British
Films. And perhaps even more people would be surprised that the
first 3D movie with paying customers was "The Power Of Love",
which was shown in Los Angeles at the Ambassador Hotel on Sept.
27, 1922.

However, most people know 3D from the movies of the 1950s, which
is sometimes called the Golden Era of 3D films. Many will also
remember many of the 3D movies which were released in the 1980s
and the 1990s - but it wasn't until Avatar dazzled and amazed
movie goers last year that new 3D technology was once again on
everyone's mind.

While movies has received most of the attention, many observers
of popular culture believe, it is in the area of computer gaming
where this new 3D technology will have the greatest impact. This
could spell the beginning of changing "HOW" people play their
video games. Some pundits would go so far as to say we are at the
beginning stages of a major computer gaming revolution. The
fallout is still unknown, but there's no denying 3D is loudly
entering stage left and auditioning for the leading role.

Many elements are dropping into place, but perhaps this gaming
revolution really started with the release of NVIDIA's long
awaited GeForce 3D Vision Kit. This 3D kit includes 3D glasses
and powerful software which can be used to turn any computer into
a 3D system. The one missing piece of the puzzle was a 120Hz
3D-Ready display or monitor.

However, we have quickly seen the introduction of these types of
monitors from Samsung and Viewsonic. Plus, we have also seen the
introduction of 3D TVs from Samsung and Sony. And it should be
noted, Sony is going 3D in a big way in 2010. First, it has
announced it is making most of its products 3D - these include
its Vaio PCs, Blu-ray Players and PS3 gaming systems. If that
wasn't enough, it has also said it is turning the Nintendo DS
into the DS3.

Not to be outdone, Microsoft says its xBox is fully capable of
handling 3D games, although some gamers do question what the
quality of those games will be like? Regardless, we are seeing a
movement towards 3D from these major players in gaming.

It should be noted that the Nintendo DS3 won't use glasses which
should make it more feasible. Let's face it, in the past, it has
been those awkward and those somewhat foolish looking glasses
which has kept 3D from truly entering into the mainstream.

Keep in mind, there are many different kinds of 3D glasses, just
as there are many different kinds of 3D systems. However,
everyone is probably familiar with the Polarized glasses which
gives the 3D illusion by limiting the amount of light which can
reach each eye. Next we have the more advanced Shutter Glasses
which uses radio frequency or a infrared transmitter to show
different perspectives for each eye - it uses timing signals in
perfect sync to darken one eye, then the other eye. This
technique is called Alternate-Frame Sequencing and can be found
in many current 3D gaming devices.

However, we are seeing the introduction of 3D systems which
don't use glasses and this is referred to as
"Autostereoscopic" 3D. Some big electronic makers are rumored
to be pursuing this technology and if they succeed, the potential
could be endless. And not just for gaming, but for the modern
workplace and for countless other applications in the real world.

But it is in gaming and home entertainment where 3D is making the
most inroads. Gamers will embrace 3D (with or without glasses)
but only if it gives them a superior gaming experience.

Amaze them and they will come.

That seems to be the rallying cry of this new visual revolution.
Dazzle them and they will open their pocketbooks to purchase
these new 3D systems. At the recent CES in Las Vegas - viewers
and critics were not disappointed by the 3D displays. Just the
opposite, all were truly dazzled by the 3D monitors, TVs and
gaming systems.

We are even witnessing the introduction of some of the first 3D
gaming laptops with 120Hz 3D-Ready screens and 3D Vision Kits
from Nvidia and other makers. Both HP and Dell are said to have
3D gaming notebooks in the works. As mentioned before, both
PlayStation3 and Nintendo DS are going 3D, which will further
bring the 3D experience to gamers.

Plus, more and more films are debuting in the 3D format and
gathering enthusiastic audiences. It is only a matter of time
before those viewers want and demand ways to enjoy those same 3D
experiences in their living rooms. Many critics argue there is
just not enough 3D content to make customers shell out the big
bucks for these new home systems.

However, give people a superior viewing system and they will
upgrade their home theater systems, sooner rather than later. As
for gamers, jumping on the 3D bandwagon is a no-brainer since
their DNA makeup simply demands the most realistic images
possible and 3D does deliver the goods. And while the lack of 3D
content may slow down this train, it can't stop it. This new 3D
visual revolution is here to stay, for good this time.

Have you ever had that feeling deep in the pit of your stomach
that you just needed a place to get away for a while? Some place
right in your own back yard where you could just get away and
relax? Well, if you have a green thumb then you might be
surprised to know that you can find peace and relaxation in your
very own potting shed.

A potting shed of today does not need resemble one of yester
year. Sheds today offer a classic charming appeal that seems to
simply boggle the imagination. These little sheds look like
miniature houses complete with windows, shutters and a front
porch to set and relax upon. The shed of today invites you inside
and offers tranquility at its best. Unlike those potting sheds of
old that delivered a touch of old time charm on the outside but
made you nervous to enter for fear of spiders, snakes and other
creatures that fill us with fear, the shed of today can be a home
away from home.

A new shed for potting can only enhance the beauty and value of
your home but more important than that it can offer you a place
to plant seeds of relaxation as well as for your favorite flowers
or plants. These sheds can be provided with electricity allowing
for light to see by and the opportunity for music to carry you
away. There is no limit to what you can do with your shed. It can
be decorated to meet your expectations and offer all the comforts
of home or it can be a simple place to get lost in thought as you
plant the seeds for the future.

What really makes the whole process so enticing is the fact that
you can get a modern shed for potting in a shed kit and in less
than a day you can be potting your heart out and finding peace
and relaxation in your potting shed.

Losing Weight - Share the Health with Family-Friendly Habits

Habit Changer
http://www.HabitChanger.com/

Whether we know it or not, we're our kids' most important
teachers. They'll likely spend far more time with us in their
formative years than anyone else, and everything we do is an
opportunity for them to learn. Unfortunately, sometimes they
learn from our mistakes just as readily as our good example.

Kids pick up their eating habits from their parents, of course.
They get used to eating what their parents serve, and while they
don't share all tastes with their parents, there ends up being a
lot of commonality. Children pick up habits just like adults do,
through repetition and example over a period of weeks and months.
Making sure these habits are healthy is an important part of
parenthood, and fortunately we have some advice to help make this
process a little easier.

Teaching Tip #1 - Team Up

Children are generally very sociable, and often behave in a way
that seeks attention and approval from their parents.
Additionally, they're very quick to pick up on things they deem
'unfair,' particularly things they have to do that they don't
see their parents doing. Take advantage of this by teaming up
with your kids for eating healthy. Bring them into it, and show
them that it's a whole-family effort, not just something they
have to do alone or that you're doing by yourself.

For example, consider all the techniques we've discussed thus
far, such as eating with our off-hand or stopping for a sip of
water between bites. Instead of just relying on these techniques
yourself, share them with your children and help them learn to
use them as well. They will reap the same rewards you do, as they
slow their food intake and gain an appreciation of how to savor
their food.

Teaching Tip #2 - Portion Control

When children develop bad eating habits, it's usually because of
what they're being provided by the adults or authority figures
in their lives, not through any conscious decision. You can help
them with this by controlling how you feed them, and giving them
alternatives.

Don't put a full plate of food in front of your children.
Remember that we're learning how to eat until we're comfortably
full, not until the food is gone. Food keeps as leftovers, and
it's always better to save back a little instead of cramming too
much into the stomach. Instead, provide a moderate portion for
their plate, and if they're hungry after, let them ask for more.
This, coupled with the slow-eating techniques above, will help
them achieve a healthy sense of feeling full instead of
overeating.

Teaching Tip #3 - Don't Use Food as an Incentive

One of the most common teaching techniques parents try to use is
the food control method. They consider sending children to bed
without dinner for misbehaving, offer promises of dessert if the
kids finish their sprouts, and the like. The problem is, this is
exactly the opposite of teaching healthy eating habits because it
gets away from what the body needs and wants. Skipping a meal is
not going to hurt the body seriously, but it does have an effect.
Also, dessert is just going to pack on the pounds if kids are
stuffing themselves to clean their plates in hope of a sweet
treat.

Food is not meant to be a reward or a method of control. It's
nutrition, something the body needs in measured quantities to be
healthy. If children insist they aren't hungry, don't force
them to finish off their plate. Instead, focus on getting them to
eat at regular times, in healthy doses, so their bodies learn to
be hungry on a particular pattern.

Teaching Tip #4 - Go Shopping

Children have an immense capacity to learn, just like anyone. One
method of getting them involved in your healthy eating habits is
to take them food shopping with you, and to teach them all about
what you're buying.

When you buy carrots and greens, tell them a little about what
each one is good for, such as carrots for healthy eyes or
fiber-rich veggies for healthy hearts. Tell them how you're
going to prepare them, and what meal they'll be a part of. Teach
your children about how the store is laid out too, with fresh
food along the outside of the store and packaged food inside.

Teaching Tip #5 - Go Slow

Just as it is with adults, kids take time to form their habits.
It can take a while, a little more than a month usually, to get a
good solid habit put together. A good benchmark to shoot for is
42 days. This can be further broken up into six weekly goals to
reach, with appropriate rewards for good progress.

As a side project, consider how you're going to gather
information about your kids' eating habits. We've discussed the
power of food journaling, so consider adding what your family
eats as well when you mark down your own meals. A week or two of
keeping track can help you see where you need to make decisions
and changes, and make the whole process of building healthy,
family-friendly eating habits much easier.

Good luck!

Spring is always a welcomed time of year especially after a long,
cold winter. In Boston, springtime is a chance to forget all
about the snow and ice and instead embrace the numerous outdoor
activities the city has to offer.

First and foremost is the Boston Marathon. The world's oldest
and most prestigious annual marathon attracts runners from all
over the world. The race starts in nearby Hopkinton and finishes
26 miles, 385 yards later in Boston's Back Bay.

Play Ball! The Boys of Summer actually begin their quest to reach
the Fall Classic in the spring. The Boston Red Sox begin their
season in April and they play in the venerated and legendary
Fenway Park. The historic ballpark offers tours of its fable
grounds until two hours before first pitch.

While not outside, the spring also means it's post season time
for the NBA's Boston Celtics and the NHL's Boston Bruins. Both
teams play at TD Garden.

Speaking of "garden," nothing says springtime more than
gardens, greenspaces and flowers in bloom. The Emerald Necklace
offers Boston residents and visitors the best opportunity to
commune with nature. Six parks compose the Emerald Necklace: the
Back Bay Fens, the Riverway, Olmsted Park, Jamaica Pond, Arnold
Arboretum, and Franklin Park. If you're up for a walk, Boston
Park rangers will lead you on foot through all six recreational
areas.

Not part of the Emerald Necklace but a fabulous outdoor space
nonetheless is the Public Garden situated right next to Boston
Common. This beautiful 24-acre plot of land is the United
States' first public garden. The park is home to a large bronze
statue of George Washington.

However, the Public Garden's main attraction is the swan boats.
These boats, which have been in service since 1877, and are
synonymous with the city, begin their annual operations in April.
Swan boats are 30 feet long, hold about 20 passengers, and are
generally operated by high school and college students. They were
apparently inspired by Richard Wagner's Lohengrin.

The Franklin Park Zoo, part of Franklin Park from the Emerald
Necklace, is the oldest zoo in the United States. It was founded
in 1913. Animals are out and about all year around but what makes
springtime especially enticing for visitors is the prospect of
seeing cute little baby animals.

The 22-acre Castle Island is open to the public year around but
from Memorial Day through Labor Day the historic Fort
Independence is open for tours. The fort, situated on the island,
played a part in the American Revolution and later served as
Massachusetts' first state prison. Besides the fort there's
also a playground for the kids. For lunch, families can enjoy
foot-long hotdogs from Sullivan's Snack bar. Visiting the island
is free.

Springtime is also a great time to take a tour of the city. Old
Town Trolley Tours offers extensive sightseeing expeditions of
Beantown; the unique Boston Duck Tours takes visitors on an
amphibious journey of the city; and Boston By Foot is perfect for
those wishing to see the town and take a walk at the same time.

Springtime is also the prime opportunity to tour Boston Harbor.
Boston Harbor Cruises, located at One Long Wharf, shows tourists
the vast sights of the harbor including the historic U.S.S.
Constitution.

Quincy Market and Harvard Square come alive during the spring
months. These destinations provide prime people watching
opportunities and are brimming with unique and talented street
performers. You'll find more "acts" on the weekend then during
the week. Expect everything from magicians to break dancers.

"The Market" is located downtown near Faneuil Hall while "The
Square" is at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue, Brattle
Street, and John F. Kennedy Street adjacent to Harvard Yard.

Springtime is also a great time to catch a show. Boston has
several venues hosting the best in music, comedy, and stage
productions such as the Wang Theatre, The Orpheum, The Boston
Opera House (see Wicked in Boston for example), the Shubert
Theatre, and Bank of America Pavilion. A show is so much better
when you know you'll be walking out of the venue into a lovely
Boston springtime evening and not into a cold winter night.

Blu-ray Players Loading Times

One item that seems to always arise when discussing Blu-ray
Players, is the loading of the Blu-ray Disc. Why does it take so
long for the Blu-ray disc to load? And when it does load, why
does the movie start to play immediately? Why are there no
opening menus first?

The first thing you need to realize is the blu-ray disc is more
complex than a DVD. The blu-ray disc holds larger amounts of data
since it has five times more storage capacity than DVDs. It can
hold 25GB (single layer) and 50 GB (dual layer) of data. With
this amount of space for data the Blu-ray menus are more
intricate and interactive. It can even make use of animation and
special audio effects. Since a Blu-ray Disc will have
picture-in-picture and online BD-Live, all features a DVD disc
does not have; it takes a while for the Blu-ray Player to load
these extra features into its memory.

As for the Blu-ray Disc playing the movie right away, instead of
the Blu-ray menu, has to do with how the Blu-ray Disc is written
and nothing to do with the Blu-ray Player itself. People who are
coding the Blu-ray disc decides if the disc will play the movie
or the menu first. The reason each disc will have a different
loading time is because Blu-ray discs are coded differently from
each other.

However, Blu-ray Players will load discs at different speeds
depending on how fast the processor is in each Blu-ray Player.
Some of the fastest Blu-ray Players are Sony's PlayStation 3,
Oppo's BDP-83, Samsung BD-P3600, and LG BD390. Some of these
players can load certain Blu-ray movies in 20 seconds. One way to
make sure your Blu-ray Player is loading the disc as fast as
possible is to update its firmware. Updating the Blu-ray Players
firmware will likely increase loading times since manufactures
are always looking to improve playback on its products.

The Top 10 Amusement Parks in America
Copyright (c) 2010 Ryan Hogan
Parenting Fun 411
http://www.parentingfun411.com/

The deciding factor in selecting the top ten amusement parks in
America was the answer to the following question: is the park
worth a trip across country? If the park is in Florida is it
worth the trip from the West Coast? If the park is in California
is it worth the journey from Boston or Baltimore? If the answer
was yes, the park qualified for inclusion.

The list also favored parks associated with popular franchises
(Disney, Marvel Comics, Peanuts, and Sesame Street just to name a
few). While this may put off some adults (okay, most adults),
kids love the characters. And after all, amusement parks are all
about the kids.

1. Walt Disney World Resort
  Location: Lake Buena Vista, Florida
  Phone: 407-939-7675
  Website: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com
  Size: 25,000 acres
Rides: They don't have "rides" they have "attractions."
Operating Season: Hours vary by season.
Top Attractions: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood
Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom

Walt Disney World Resort is the largest and most-visited
amusement park on the planet. There's not enough summer to see
and do everything Disney World has to offer. Sure the resort is a
"little" commercialized, but with 25,000 acres of high quality
fun Disney World is the prime vacation spot for both the young
and the young heart.

2. Universal Orlando Resort
  Location: Orlando, Florida
  Phone: 407-363-8000
  Website: http://www.universalorlando.com
  Size: Unknown
  Rides: 25+
Operating Season: Hours vary by season.
Top Attractions: Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands
of Adventure, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Wet 'n Wild
Orlando, City Walk Orlando

Universal Orlando Resort is a smorgasbord of family fun. Many of
its amazing rides and attractions, including 4-D adventures and
state-of-the-art roller coasters, are based on popular movies and
television characters like Harry Potter, Shrek, The Simpsons, and
Marvel Comics. Yet, as cool as Spider-Man and the Hulk are they
can't beat the mouse and that's why Universal Orlando is number
two.

3. Cedar Point
  Location: Sandusky, Ohio
  Phone: 419-627-2350
  Website: http://www.cedarpoint.com
  Size: 364 acres
Rides: 75 total, 17 roller coasters
Operating Season: May through Early November
Top Attractions: 17 roller coasters, water rides, Challenge
Park, Planet Snoopy

Many amusement park enthusiasts put Cedar Point on the top of
their "Best of" lists. That's because it's probably the best
pure amusement park in the world. After all, its 17 roller
coasters are the most of any park on the planet. Besides the
coasters, visitors can get all wet at their world famous water
park, Soak City, or enjoy one of their many exciting live shows.
Cedar Point comes in it at number three because, well, to put it
bluntly, it's in Sandusky and it doesn't have the cool
franchises like Disney World and Universal Orlando.

4. Disneyland Resort
  Location: Anaheim, California
  Phone: 714-781-4565
  Website: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com
  Size: 510 acres
  Rides: 1 (see #1)
Operating Season: Hours vary by season.
Top Attractions: Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure,
Downtown Disney

Disneyland Resort contains two amusement parks, one is the famous
Disneyland, which opened in 1955, and the other is Disney's
California Adventure. The two parks, together with Downtown
Disney and various hotels, attract more than 20 million visitors
every year. So why is this legendary resort only number four on
our list? Is it because of the song "It's a Small World (After
All)" incessantly repeats during the ride of the same name? Yes.

5. Busch Gardens Europe
  Location: Williamsburg, Virginia
  Phone: 800-343-7946
  Website: http://www.buschgardens.com/bgw/default.aspx
  Size: 250 acres
Rides: 25 total, 5 roller coasters
  Operating Season: March through October
Top Attractions: Roller Coasters, Sesame Street Forest of Fun,
Special seasonal events

In case you didn't glean it from its title, Busch Gardens Europe
has a European theme going on. It also has a small but highly
rated set of roller coasters. When your stomach needs a break
from the thrill rides, the park offers several relaxing but
entertaining Broadway style shows. Busch Gardens is a great place
to visit during the holidays.

6. Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari
  Location: Jackson Township, New Jersey
  Phone: 732-928-1821
  Website: http://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/index.aspx
Size: 260 acres for Great Adventure, 350 acres for Wild Safari
  Rides: 46
  Operating Season: March through November
Top Attractions: Roller coasters, 350-acre wildlife preserve,
Looney Tunes pals

Due to its close proximity to New York and Philadelphia, Six
Flags Great Adventure is one of the most popular amusement parks
in the North East. Great Adventure is known for its spectacular
roller coasters like Nitro, The Ride, Kingda Ka, and El Toro. Its
350-acre wildlife preserve is home to 1,200 animals and the park
boosts that it's the largest "drive-thru safari" outside of
Africa.

7. Canada's Wonderland
Location: Vaughan, Ontario, Canada (Greater Toronto Area)
  Phone: 905-832-8131
  Website: http://canadaswonderland.com
  Size: 330 acres
  Rides: 48 thrill rides
  Operating Season: May through October
Top Attractions: Planet Snoopy, The Mighty Canadian Minebuster,
Riptide, Drop Tower, Psyclone, Whitewater Bay, Hollywood's Stunt
Spectacular

Canada's Wonderland is renowned for its great variety of roller
coasters, probably the best assortment on the continent. In fact,
if you ignore the United States, Canada's Wonderland has the
most roller coasters of any amusement park in the world. This is
also the most visited seasonal park in North America. Canada's
Wonderland is about 30 minutes from downtown Toronto.

8. Legoland California
  Location: Carlsbad, California
  Phone: 760-918-LEGO
  Website: http://www.legoland.com
  Size: 128 acres
  Rides: 50+
Operating Season: Hours vary by season.
Top Attractions: Miniland, Legoland Water Park, Dino Island, Fun
Town, Pirate Shore, Imagination Zone

Everything is better when it's made out of Lego's. Amusement
parks are for kids but this park's height requirements really
favor vertically-challenged young ones. Legoland is laid out in
nine areas each with a different theme. One of the most popular
areas of the park is Miniland. In this area, artists have used
Legos to construct several American landmarks to 1:20 scale.

9. SeaWorld San Diego
  Location: San Diego, California
  Phone: 800-25-SHAMU
  Website: http://seaworld.com/sandiego/default.aspx
  Size: 189 acres
  Rides: 8
Operating Season: Hours vary by season.
Top Attractions: Journey to Atlantis, Wilde Arctic, Lights,
Camera, Imagination 4-D!, Sesame Street Bay of Play, Dolphins,
Orcas

SeaWorld is a classic. Since opening in 1964, SeaWorld San Diego
has delighted visitors with exhibits, rides, and of course, its
wonderful marine wildlife. SeaWorld is near the bottom of our
list because it lacks the thrill rides of other amusement parks
and it maybe too educational for some kids. Still, SeaWorld has
enough things to do and see to make it a viable vacation
destination.

10. Knoebels Amusement Resort
  Location: Elysburg, Pennsylvania
  Phone: 800-487-4386
  Website: http://www.knoebels.com/index.asp
  Size: Nearly 300 acres
  Rides: 55
  Operating Season: April through September
Top Attractions: Twister, Flying Turns, Haunted Mansion, Grand
Carousel, 3 Ponds Golf Course

Knoebels is a straight-forward, non-pretentious, kid-friendly,
family-run amusement park. The park was created to entertain, not
to sell merchandise-no ubiquitous cute and furry corporate
mascots here. Knoebels has the best amusement park food in the
country and bills itself as "America's Largest Free Admission
Park." You can buy rides a la carte or via a day pass.

Natural Way of Getting Rid Of Cellulite
http://www.naturalwayofgettingridofcellulite.com/

Having facial fat and wanting to lose face fat always go hand in
hand. After all, carrying the extra weight on your face is never
something that anyone wants to do. You can have lowered self
esteem and less success in many areas simply because you are
uncomfortable with how you look, as well. One thing is for sure,
and that is that no one looks better with extra fat covering the
features that they want the world to see! Luckily, there are many
different methods for losing this kind of fat without the use of
surgery.

Lose Face Fat With Facial Exercises

One of the easiest methods of losing facial fat would be to do
some simple facial exercises on a regular basis. These can help
not just with facial fat, but also with crow's feet and other
issues. You can close your eyes firmly, then open them, all while
stretching your skin from the corners of your eyes and then
upwards from your eyebrows with your fingers. For your neck area,
you can place your palm underneath your chin, then tilt your head
backward to stretch the area and move your lower lips upwards to
feel the skin gently stretch. These are just a couple of examples
of outstanding facial exercises to help you lose face fat,
wrinkles and other problems.

Watch Your Prescription And Over-The-Counter Medications

Another tip for losing face fat has to do with watching what you
put into your body via prescription and over-the-counter
medications. While most medications will not give you trouble,
there are many that could have side effects, including increased
fat in your face, neck and other areas. Obviously, you will want
to avoid such medications for sure.

Use Makeup Techniques To Hide Face Fat

If you use the proper techniques, you can use makeup to help
camouflage fatty areas on your face and neck. The key with makeup
use, as well as how you dress is to not accentuate the problem
areas, but instead to draw attention elsewhere and conceal any
problems that you can. Many men also use facial hair to take away
some of the roundness of their faces, as well as to give them
more definition in the affected areas.

Improve Your Lifestyle

Of course, the number one way to lose face fat without resorting
to surgery is definitely by improving your lifestyle with a
healthier diet and regular exercise. Any other method will pale
in comparison to the improvement that you will see even with a
few workouts of a half hour each week and some minor changes to
your diet. The key is to take small steps instead of trying to
change everything over night. Cut out junk food if you can, then
increase your consumption of healthy foods, then make more
improvements, and so on.

When you want to lose face fat, remember that we can't choose
what body areas we lose fat from and in which order. You may lose
a lot of weight in your body before you lose all of your facial
fat, but if you use these tips and show some determination, you
will get where you want to go!

Choosing a Homemade Soap Recipe

Soap Making Fun
http://www.soapmakingfun.com/

If you are just starting out in soap making, it is important that
you choose the right homemade soap recipe. Choosing a recipe that
is too complicated will usually end in frustration and wasted
ingredients. Below are some tips you can use to find a good soap
recipe to start with in your soap making adventure.

#1 - Choose the Right Method

While it may seem obvious, you should first choose the soap
making method you want to learn before you start looking for a
recipe. If your intention is to learn how to make homemade soap
completely from scratch, you'll want to start with the cold
process.

#2 - Make Sure It's Simple

It would probably be best not to try your hand at a complicated
recipe right off the bat. Start with a simple recipe that uses a
few basic ingredients. Once you are able to make this simple soap
well and have mastered the fundamentals, then you can move up to
other techniques like swirling and embedding botanicals.

#3 - Use a Homemade Soap Recipe from an Established Source

Due to the nature of soap making and the need for precise
measurements, it is important that the recipe you choose comes
from an established source. This will work to ensure that the
recipe has been tested and has worked for other people. Imagine
the frustration of using a recipe that was flawed to begin with!
You may do everything right but the soap just would not come out
properly.

#4 - Choose a Recipe with Ingredients You Like

You may be tempted to make a soap that has a scent that a family
member or friend likes, however, it is best to stick to what you
like at first. This is because you will want to make a batch or
two before you are ready to let others try out your soap. You
don't want to be stuck with a soap that has a scent that you
don't enjoy for those first few batches!

#5 - Choose a Fun Recipe

While it may seem like the only fun recipes are the complicated
ones, there are plenty of simple recipes that are a blast to
make! Look around and you will be sure to run into more than
enough recipes to keep you busy.

Choosing the right homemade soap recipe to start learning how to
make soap isn't very complicated. Use these tips and you'll be
on your way to making soap using a great recipe in no time!
