I have a beautiful 10 months old baby boy and I graduated from Florida International University last April, my mayor was basically an MBA for engineering. Call for Applications 2007: Germany Meets Turkey – A Forum for Young Leaders

The institute for cultural diplomacy is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the first year of the Germany Meets Turkey - A Forum for Young Leaders (GMT) program. Twelve young leaders, six Turkish and six German, will take part in a week-long exchange in Germany in July 2007. The study tour will culminate in a high-profile conference in Berlin. In 2008 the twelve participants will be returning for a one-week exchange in Turkey, joining a new group of twelve young leaders.

We welcome applications from young leaders between the ages of 28 and 38 from every field, including economics, politics, science, education, culture and media, who are interested in building a sustainable interdisciplinary network as a basis for solid, long-term relations between the two countries.

Between July 14th and 22nd, 2007 the twelve selected participants will spend one week touring through Germany, visiting the cities of Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Berlin. The interdisciplinary program will include:

• guest speakers from the fields of business, politics, academia, science, culture and media;
• exposure to various aspects of national culture;
• formal discussions among the participants, during which they will lead dialogue on their respective fields;
• informal discussions among the young leaders on important issues facing Turkey and Germany; and
• a high-profile closing conference with specially invited guests addressing topics pertinent to both countries.

The institute for cultural diplomacy based in Berlin is the main organizer of this program, and will be supported by ARI Movement in Turkey. Germany Meets Turkey is funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung and other partners.

Participation in GMT is free of charge. However, accepted participants will be responsible for paying for and organizing individual travel to and from the Study Tour. Upon acceptance to the program applicants may request financial assistance.

Full details about the program, as well as the application and selection process, are now available online at

www.germanymeetsturkey.org.

Applications must be submitted no later than March 16th, 2007.

Dear GPE Alumni,

The GPE-Team has been working on the reaccreditation of the Master Program GPE for some month now. As you know an accreditation is a quality criterion for this study program as well as a competitive advantage. The reason for the reaccreditation is simply the expire date of the first accreditation of 2001, which was successfully given for five years.

The reaccreditation process is very challenging with its audits. The accreditation agency is ASIIN. ASIIN is the only German accreditation agency specialized in accrediting degree programs from the fields of engineering, informatics/computer science, the natural sciences and mathematics. On the 6th of February 2007 GPE welcomes the ASIIN expert evaluators to an audit at PTZ.

For that event the accreditation board asked us about the jobs GPE-Alumni work at. Especially they would like to know how many of you work in research and development.

You would do us a great favour, if you could SEND US UNTIL FRIDAY FEBRUARY 2^nd 2007 your job description.

Dear Students,

Prof. Seliger and the GPE Team , would sincerely like to invite you to our GPE Summer Celebration 2006.

We are welcoming Students of the Intake of 2003 to join the ceremonial act of handing over their master certificates, we are looking forward to celebrate with Students of the Intake of 2005 the end of this semester and we are also very kindly welcoming all Alumni to this meeting, as well as all friends and family members.

We start at 5 o’clock p.m. on Saturday the 15^th July, 2006 at the Zollpackhof.

The address is: Elisabeth Abegg Str. 1, 10557 Berlin.

Being one of Berlin’ s most traditional restaurants with a history of over 300 years, the Zollpackhof situated at the north bank of the Spree River with a terrace and its 130 year old chestnut tree as well as its “Biergarten”, which allows a fantastic view on the German Chancellorship as well as the new Main Railway Station “Lehrter Bahnhof”. We hope this will be for all of us an experience of special character. Another special feature of this restaurant is its direct access to the river boardwalk towards Bellevue Palace, the Residence of the President.

Besides the special program there will be a gourmet barbecue with vegetable specialities and soft drinks offered.

Please, let us know one week before the 15^th July the number of additional guests you may attend with to this event, thus we can plan this day more effectively.

Additionally, please also share this invitation with Alumni, we may not have the correct e-mail address, to make sure that everybody is informed.

It would give us a great pleasure to see you there and have a wonderful summer day with you.

actually there was no reply. what did you do? :-))
Well, I searched internet for any information about korean provider, especially
DAEWOO Generator.
Finally I found the company DAEHAN GENERATOR CO.,(former Daewoo Generator Co.)

Hallo guyz,

I am working currently as a business development and commercial manager
in a gas trader and transporter company in Indonesia. We are now
facing problem in our Compressed Natural Gas project, according to
sales contract cancellation from our Generator's vendor.

If you guyz have any information or having relation with any
Generator's manufacturer or vendor that able to provide Gas Engine
Generator within at the latest one and a half months from today,
please please contact me. I will do very very appruciate, if you could
help me. FYI, we need 2 units of 250-350 kWH gas engine Generator.

Dear all,

It has been more than 6 years since I made my first step in Frankfurt.
Today is my last official working day in Germany. that means I move back
to korea for new challenge.
However I stay with SCHOTT AG. especially I'm involved with expanding a
new TFT LCD factory and its business in Ochang, near CheongJu City, which
is about 1,5 ~ 2 hours driving from Seoul. At the beginning I will stay in
Seoul for several months.
Well, Surely I will have so many things from Germany in mind for last of
my life, things, mostly what we have in common.
Just sooo sorry that I haven't or couldn't make enough time to share with
you for the last days.
However I believe we stay in contact and meet again with biggest delight
whenever, wherever it would be.
Wish you a merry Christmas and good luck till next time we meet!

My best wishes for you in this new challenge but I�m sure you�ll do it just
fine.

I as Monica remember those first days in Telgebeude where almost nobody knew
anything and how the group was getting integrated.  By the way guys, Tomorrow
19th Dec is Monica�s Birthday so Happy Birthday for you Monica.

Personally I was really satisfied at the proyect of SPD where we worked
together.

Anyway I could write a book with the experiances in Berlin.

On my part, I can tell you that I came back to Mexico 3 years ago, and even when
at the begining was really hard to find a good job, I did it, and now I�m
working at Pirelli Tires and I�m National Sales Manager division Truck and
Retread.

By the way Turkish guys, who is in Istambul?  Cause next year in May I�ll be
going there to visit the factory there, probably we can meet there.

Well Jeung-Hun, congratulations again and hope we all keep in touch

I have been working for SCHOTT AG (http://www.schott.com) already for 2 years.
my task area was coordination of glass substrate production for TFT-LCD panel.
this year SCHOTT wants to send me as project manager to korea for new factory
construction.
my flight to korea will be in 3 months, but I don't know if it might be my
return home forever.
