This group is designed to assist railfans up and down the I5 Corridor recognize, spot, photograph or video trains. This group is especially for those that live, work by, or frequent the tracks. Participants in this group can report trains that are destined for other points on the railroad. This includes BNSF, UP, Amtrak and commuter and shortline railroads. To be specific it would include BNSF's Seattle, Stampede, Scenic, Columbia River, Yakima Valley, Fallbridge, Lakeside, The Funnel, Oregon Trunk, and Gateway Subs. On the UP it would be Portland, Cascade, Seattle, Valley, Black Butte, Spokane International and Hunington Subs. Shortlines could include Portland Western, Central Oregon Pacific, Port of Tilamook Bay, Modoc Northern, City of Prineville, Puget Sound Pacific, and Tacoma Rail. Commuter rail would include Sounder Commute and Amtrak Cascades. This also can be a discussion group. Reports of the latest news in the railroad buisness is welcome. Specific data on trains, such as power numbers and unusal cars in consist (no military movement please), should be reported with only occasional discussion (Just the Facts Please!). Interpretation of observations is acceptable. Data heard via scanner is also acceptable. Please forward information from other groups that are relevant to this list. Share your observations...of even the most mundane! This group is subject to a lot of email, please choose your options accordingly.
