Description
This Infra_Man e-Group has been created to act as the broadest based interest group, particularly as a central public electronic platform to gather e-resources, comments, contacts, etc. and any other information for the subject of "Infrastructure (Asset) Management" (IAM). Notably it depends on people sending or posting their inputs into this e-Group, like by using the email address “Infra_Man@yahoogroups.com”
IAM has broad international application. To get started with IAM, particularly in Municipal Services like Water, Electricity, etc PLEASE access this subject through reference manuals (see 'Files' here or search the internet like for “IIMM (2006)”).
This e-Group is one form of e-Facility for IAM. A more responsive place to go than here is the IAM_Portal:
http://waterinformationnetwork.ning.com/group/infrastructureassetmanagement
This e-Group is rather than the above intended to augment any IAM initiatives as they are arranged or emerge, and to facilitate application of IAM applied thinking through gathering essential information, linkages, resources, that can be posted here that you might need too. Some come here to look at what is going on that could help you too.
For example, there is increasing mobility and practical attention for IAM in the Water Sector within South Africa. Broad partnering is emerging. The SA Water IAM Programme continues to mobilise. Matters are now increasingly dynamic. IAM is receiving rising professional, private and public sector attention – BUT there is a long way to go. e-Media has a significant part to play and to underpin any actual IAM activity.
Some other key e-Facility links are offered here for your own reference and enquiry:
