If you might be in receipt of recent WISA newsletters some of you
might have noted the following in:
"1.4 Infrastructure Asset Management
WISA has agreed to provide logistical support to an Infrastructure
Asset Management – Professional Working Group (IAM-PWG) although the
name is not yet finalised, being convened presently by Nigel Lowe
(WISA Member – lowen@...). The IAM-PWG is not in
competition with any of the numerous IAM initiatives but seeks as a
group of interested individuals to assist, where possible, with the
support and integration of the IAM initiatives To stay in touch with
these developments and to receive e-mails, thoughts, discussion
about IAM application and use in this direction etc. visit
www.yahoogroups.com and join the group = `Infra_Man `. That home
page reflects a further link to a private grouping about who is
involved / being consulted in this formalizing this initiative".
It's the last sentence that I really need to inform this group
about, as I am promoting the idea of the emergence of that private
grouping to give some formality emerging around Infra_Man. Please
in particular go to our Infra_Man home Webpage to see more about
this. (www.yahoogroups.com/group/Infra_Man)
A second meeting of a core group is now arranged for the 16th in CT
after the Pragma Workshop. We are not making public any thing at
present but a distinct partnership, at least for Water Services in
the short term is on the cards with particularly but not exclusively
with WISA. In declaring this activity I do commit that for as long
as I am a part of this, I will keep this Infra_Man group informed.
My intention is that what-ever structures we can be in place it must
be inclusive and seek to grow all involved with practical application
of Infrastructure Asset Management as it is a practice. I will seek
that at least the minutes of our meetings once approved by the core
group might be made available to all on Infra_Man.
Regards,
Nigel Lowe
