Many of you have enjoyed "The Brainwashing of the American Investor" and
you've probably wondered why you've never seen it on display in bookstores.
Here's
the story:
This is a "Print on Demand" book, which means that when one is ordered, the
distributor arranges to have it printed. This is the only viable publishing
alternative for new and/or generally unknown authors, regardless of the story
they have to tell. It's a known fact that the big time publishers rarely take
the
publishing risk associated with unknown authors.
Adding to the problem is the way that the bookstores operate. Major
publishers solidify their monopoly on bookstores by allowing store owners to
return any
books that don't sell. Thus, the bookstore owner will display hundreds of
copies of a title by a famous person or an established author. The display makes
it look like yet another great book, but the secret is, that even if it
doesn't sell, the store can just return it anyway. Bookstores take no risk at
all...even less than publishers. AND, unfortunately, if they can't return it,
they
won't stock it.
"The Brainwashing of the American Investor" is a rare book! It is one of the
very few POD books that IS actually returnable! Can you help me get this
message to bookstore operators? I'll send a free autographed copy anywhere in
the
USA, to anyone you choose, if you contact ten or more (appropriate) bookstores
in your area.
Just go "Google Local Search", search for "bookstores", pick a nearby town or
city. Names and local phone numbers are provided.
