Business Application Specialist

The Microsoft Dynamics Application Consultant will participate in every aspect of the implementation from analyzing the customer’s business requirements to configuring the Microsoft Dynamics application to meet the customer’s needs. The Application Consultant communicates with the customer’s organization on many levels to obtain the necessary understanding of the business processes.

The analysis of the business processes may lead to changing these processes. The Application Consultant works with the customer’s Key Users to ensure full understanding of the implications to the current business processes.

The analysis of the business processes may also lead to modifying the Microsoft Dynamics standard application. In this case the Application Consultant will communicate with the Development Consultant to ensure implementation of the necessary modifications to the Microsoft Dynamics application.

Additionally, the Application Consultant can expect to be tasked with conducting acceptance testing and training customer resources to successfully use and maintain the Microsoft Dynamics application.

·         Education Background

o    B.S. in Commerce  (Accounting, Business Administration)

o    Enterprise Resource Planning ERP Training Course or relevant training courses

·         Experience

o    Minimum one (1) year of experience (not required relevant to vacancy)

Skill Set Minimum 5 to 7 years general web site design/development experience

Minimum 2 full project experience with design, implement and maintain a robust, scalable content management system with integrated ecommerce system

  Minimum 3 to 5 years Microsoft .Net (C#) Framework 2.0 or higher – console and web – experience, Ajax, JavaScript, MTML, XML, Web Security best practices
  
  Minimum 3 to 5 years software and database systems architecture/design experience
  
  Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience with SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 database application development involving Transact-SQL, stored procedures, user-defined functions, and SQL 2000 DTS and SQL 2005/2008 SSIS.
  
  Minimum 1 to 2 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 Reporting Services and Analysis Services a plus.
  
  Minimum of 2 to 4 years experience leading/coaching/mentoring developers.
  Work with product team to determine detailed product requirements.
• Document all aspects of your work including system design, APIs and component usage.
• Track and report on project status.

Position Summary

The role of the DBA is to be responsible for the performance, integrity, maintenance and security of the UAE Higher Education Data Warehouse.  Other key responsibilities include space planning, troubleshooting, writing and executing ETL’s and scripting maintenance of the data stored within the data warehouse.

Requirements

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent. 

'Oracle Certified Professional' certification is an advantage

Experience & Special Skills:

•        Minimum of three years relevant work experience in managing IT systems and   operations.

•        Experience with Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) and publishing data using      Cognos Framework Manager

·                     Experience with ASP, ASP .NET is a must.

·                     Experience writing ORACLE queries, procedures, triggers etc is a must.

·                     Experience with web authoring tools like Dreamweaver or Visual Studio is a must.

·                     Experience writing web services a big bonus.

·                     Knowledge of web servers a must.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Administrate the UAE higher education data warehouse

·         Regular maintenance of the system, capacity planning, security management, building of ETL’s, resolve Cognos related issues, access management, software installation, and maintaining

·         Creation and publishing of star schema packages and updating the data house within the data warehouse.

·         Designs, implements and manages NAPO systems and related security requirements

·         Maintain professional awareness of current best practice in the field of IT, specifically as it relates to NAPO requirements.

Reports to and is supervised by the Data Warehouse Supervisor

The incumbent should be able to communicate effectively and confidently to both with internal and external clients

Extensive knowledge and experience in computing technologies and equipment including:

• Systems backup and storage solutions.
