KnitDesign has been created to continue the community originally created by Gail McHugh in March of 1999 in her group Knit_Design.

We intend to continue under the same rules and principles, including qualifying for membership - this is not intended to be a place to learn knitting techniques, but to discuss the business side of design and publishing

KnitDesign was created for Knit Wear Designers to discuss the business aspects of their profession. Among the topics generally discussed are, business aspects such as sales and marketing of knitwear, accounting, etc.

Neither Knit_Design or KnitDesign are or were intended to be an appropriate place for those needing help with knitting techniques.

Those new to the business of Knit Wear Design, Editing and Publishing are welcome, we all started somewhere.
