Polish up your headlamp and put those locomotive numbers on the glass straight, we're gonna talk about the great L&N RR! This is an easy going group without a maniacle moderator. Cross post all you want!
The L&N was one of the premier railroads of the South. Many folks grew up near and dear to it. It still lives today in out hearts and memories. So don't be "a greasy spot on the L&N", join now and share you memories of the L&N or photos of current day CSX action on original L&N lines. Ask questions about the L&N! If we don't know the answer, I'm sure somebody will make something up.
Of course, NO FLAMING, NO SPAMMING and NO bad attitudes! We can discuss modeling, history, depots, old lines, new lines, post photos, include links to photos, etc, and much more! Also any info/dicussion of The NC&StL are welcome here, as well as Family Lines, Seaboard System and CSX railroads pertaining to what used to be the L&N. And by all means, let's have a GOOD time!
PHOTO: Photo by Me, Thefireman. Taken at the Southern Appalacian RR Musem's Spring Photo Special. A very nicely restored ALCO C420 is up and running in Oak Ridge, TN. BTW, the bridge is also L&N. Our gubberment "aquired" it (read: stole) from the L&N when it needed a bridge for the Oak Ridge Nuclear Facility. Thanks SARM for a great weekend!
