Light Rail traction discussion group. This list is for discussion of the historical aspects of the various light rail transit installations in North America, with emphasis on those systems which have opened since 1978--including San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, St. Louis, Denver, Dallas, Hudson-Bergen, Calgary, and many more. Discussion also includes older systems that converted to LRT such as San Francisco, Boston, Cleveland and others, plus "heritage" systems in Memphis, New Orleans, etc. LRT and heritage systems under construction or even on the drawing board--like Houston, Minneapolis, Little Rock, etc., are also open for discussion.
(Not included: LRT outside of North America (except for occasional Off-Topic posts of LRVs elsewhere, if tied into this group's discussion). Go to eurotrams@yahoogroups.com; TramsPacificRim@yahoogroups.com; or TramsDownUnder@yahoogroups.com for discussion in those focus areas.)
