Hello!

Welcome to Melbourne Recycle.

Our aim is to create a community based email list where we are focused on
reducing waste. All members are encouraged to re-home items they no longer
need. It might be clothing that you've outgrown, or your old fridge when you've
upgraded models.

We want to re-home items rather than create more waste by having them go to the
tip.

And you get to choose who you give them to.

If you'd like an item remember:

1. you need to give before you can receive. So, every new member needs to give
at least one item before you can ask for anything
2. keep the value of "wanted" ads to less than $250
3. keep it safe and proper
4. you cannot ask for more than 2 items per week
5. for every 5 items you ask for, you need to give at least one item

This list is not for you to re-sell items. Everything must be for free. And if
we do find or even suspect you of re-selling items, you will be immediately
thrown off the list, and banned from this list and all associated lists.

If you need any further information, simply email us at:

These are the guidelines for borrowing and loaning items off fellow list
members.

Sometimes you might only want something for a one time use. And it just doesn't
make sense to buy one, or even get one second hand. It makes better sense to
borrow something and return it in very good order.

Firstly, before you go any further, by agreeing to being involved in borrowing
and loaning items through the list, you agree to hold no one associated with the
list liable for any outcomes that may result.

If you don't agree, you must not use the list for borrowing or loaning items.

These guidelines may be updated from time to time, and you are also responsible
to check the guidelines in your own time.

1. Do not loan items to people you don't trust.
2. You are not obligated to loan an item to anyone.
3. if you borrow an item through the list, you are obliged to return it in at
least the order you borrowed it in. eg: if you borrow a shovel, do not return
it dirty.
4. people who do not act fairly and reasonably with the borrowing and loaning
of items may be permanently banned from the list, and at the very least, make
our database of "problems and issues".
5. respect each other
6. If you loan something out, ensure you agree on a return date.
7. If you break something you've borrowed, be prepared to replace it or fix it
at your own cost.

Key rule for the Melbourne Recycle List

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We know it's a hard decision to re-home a pet. Within our community of
Melbourne, we pride ourselves on taking great care of our pets, and ensuring we
only ever breed responsibly.

New laws now states that all pets must be microchipped before being sold or
given away.

Hence, if you have a cat, kitten, dog, or puppy to place, it MUST be
microchipped. There are no exceptions to this rule. In addition, the microchip
number must be stated as well in the offer.

If you do not microchip the pet, yet advertise it through the list, this is a
deliberate breach of list rules, and you will be moved to fully moderated
postings. One more breach of the rules may lead to you being unsubscribed
through the list.

This list encourages responsible pet ownership and breeding. We encourage you
to desex all your pets. We encourage anyone who does breed, to be an active
member of the VCA or the cat society in their area, and to breed purebred
animals.

Breeding animals is something that should be done seriously and with proper
intent - not something to help the kids learn about life.

with thanks,

If you do not microchip the pet, yet advertise it through the list, this is a
deliberate breach of list rules, and you will be moved to fully moderated
postings. One more breach of the rules may lead to you being unsubscribed
through the list.

This list encourages responsible pet ownership and breeding. We encourage you
to desex all your pets. We encourage anyone who does breed, to be an active
member of the VCA or the cat society in their area, and to breed purebred
animals.

Breeding animals is something that should be done seriously and with proper
intent - not something to help the kids learn about life.

with thanks,

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hi all,

whilst we hope that everyone who participates in this email list is honest with
good intentions, the reality is that some people are predators, and will use any
means to hurt others.

To this end, we encourage you to take a safe approach to using this list and the
internet generally.

There are excellent safety tips you can get via searching google.

You are responsible for your safety.
