Reports that I was robbed, stranded in London, and needed money to return to the US are false. Please do not co-operate. Any such messages were not from me. My Facebook account was hijacked. This con is clearly well planned. It was timed right before Xmas eve when I might be away (fortunately I’m not) and Facebook service would be on break. A team of people are emailing and IMing from my account (and I’m sure many other compromised ones) and removing friends or posts that complained.
The scam has been reported to Facebook. I thank everyone for their sympathy, emails, and phone calls on this. As an aside, I freely publish my email address and phone number, which you can get from LinkedIn, the DallasBlue web site, and emails like this. I hope you would try to contact me before sending any money.
