NP Auburn Show: October 5, 2013 -- the first Saturday in October.
Our show features Bob Kelly, Dave Sprau and Kent Sullivan on dispatching train sheets. Bob will give an overview, Dave their practical application, and Kent their potential for prototype modeling. We hope to have examples of train sheets from the GN, NP and MILW. With a little luck, we will be able to also include examples from the UP, PC and SPS. Watch the list for further information!
The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 P.M. at the White River Valley Museum. Admission is five dollars, four for seniors and kids, and free for Museum life members. Coffee, juice and snacks are provided. The presentation is at 918 H Street Southeast in Auburn, Washington.
Visit White River on the
Web for articles, directions and pictures.
In case some of you missed Richard Anderson's master class on wood car construction -- Chapel Car 5,
Messenger of Peace -- you can visit the Northwest Railway Museum
Web site for further details (and Christmas ornaments to support restoration work). This is a fascinating project on constructing and rebuilding a Barney and Smith passenger car of 1898.
As a heads-up, Doug Shearer says the Northern Pacific Railway Museum is planning its next workfest over the first weekend in September. He is hoping to get three Pasco veterans from NP train service in the Yakima Valley as the guest speakers, with a slide show accompaniment. Stay tuned for more!
