This is a discussion and sharing group for friends and former employees of the "Water Level Route", the late and great New York Central Railroad Company.
Our focus is primarily historical, and mostly limited to the NYC ( and PC successor ) period prior to ConRail. Our emphasis is upon the prototype equipment, routes, signaling, towers and operations.
Our shared files area features contributions from myself and our members, including Divisional Maps and photos. Additions can be uploaded by anyone, and are very appreciated!
As this storage area is nearly full, I opened the NYC-RR2 List, for added room for storage. Also created are specialty Lists, NYC-RRsignaling and NYC-RRtoledo, for any data on signaling / the Toledo OH area.
For those with a more general interest in signaling, interlockings and towers, etc. of any and all railroads, including the NYC, please also visit our
Railway-Signaling@yahoogroups.com List.
For added information about the NYC RR (including modeling same), I suggest joining the
NYC-Railroad@yahoogroups.com List, managed by fellow fan and friend Terry Link.
Highly recommended is a membership in the NYC Historical Society, P O Box 81184b, Cleveland, OH 44181-0184, Regular at $ 30.00 per year. A membership application form is in our Files area, which can be printed out and mailed in.
Welcome and Thx ! Bill Strassner, NYCS Historical Society Member S5365, and as of 2005, Member NYCSHS Board of Directors.*-*
