This group pertains to the operations of the Northern Plains Railroad. NPR is a Class III Regional Railroad based out of Fordville, ND, operating 344.2 miles of trackage in northern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota.

It leases 290.31 miles of Soo Line/CPR trackage which includes:

- The Devils Lake Subdivision - Thief River Falls, MN, to Devils Lake, ND (135.81 miles)
- The Bisbee Subdivision - Fordville, ND, to Bisbee, ND (83.51 miles), and Kramer, ND, to Kenmare, ND (70.99 miles)

Through affiliates Mohall Central Railroad (MCR/MHC) and Mohall Railroad (MRI), it also owns 53.89 miles of former BNSF trackage which includes:

- The Gilby Subdivision - Honeyford, ND, to Forest River, ND (13.03 miles)
- The Sarles Subdivision - Alsen Junction, ND, to Sarles, ND (28.46 miles)
- The Mohall Subdivision - Lansford, ND, to Mohall, ND (12.4 miles)
