Hello everyone!
Three things on the agenda for now. . . .
Our November meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 8 beginning
at 11:30am at PJ's Abbey in Old Town Orange. Our speaker will be
Joseph Ford, retired military who presently serves as the Veteran's
Claims Officer for the Veterans Administration.
Mr. Ford will review the monetary, health care, disability and
funeral benefits that military veterans and their families are
eligible for. He will offer insight into navigating the proverbial
government red tape that follows in addition to few war stories of
particular interest.
On the FILES page is posted the flyer for this meeting which refers
you to the various mail, fax or online registration methods. The cost
of this meeting is $30 for CPA members and non-CPAs if your
registration and payment is received by Tuesday, Oct. 31st. After
October 31st, the cost is $35 for CPA members and non-CPAs, $40 for
non-member CPAs and at the door registration.
Second, we are looking for interested members to host one of the
meetings on the agenda for 2007. Serving as a host for one meeting
gives you the opportunity to present your business or company to the
membership and help arrange the speaker on the particular topic for
that meeting.
I would like to thank the members of the steering committee who have
selected the following topics for the 2007 Eldercare agenda:
Professional Fiduciary Services
Estate & Trust planning for Elderly Domestic Partners
Federal & Multi-State Tax Rules affecting Seniors
Elderlaw & Capacity Determinations
Preparing Trust Accountings under Comp-Review Standards
Investing for the Non-Investment Professional
Probate Overview
What's missing from your client's estate planning documents?
I encourage each of you to give a little bit of your time and
participate by helping conduct our meetings. Please contact me by e-
mail or telephone at (714) 544-1844 if you have a speaker you would
like to recommend for one of these subjects. I thank you in advance
for your help and participation.
Lastly, a reminder that the earlybird sign up discount for Symposium
