Reply | Forward Message #130 of 137 |
Go to your calendars and schedule your lunch hours on Tuesday,
December 4, 2007 and Tuesday, January 8, 2008 for Symposium IV on
Retirement and Aging.

OK, now that you've done that I'll tell you more about the valuable
and informative lunch presentations you'll be attending.

First Two Important Changes From Last Year: The Symposium has moved
to a new location, the Wyndham Orange County which is located next to
the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. Second,
parking fees are included with the admission price.

The December 4th speakers are Frank Van Nostrand from the Social
Security Administration and Joe Ford from the Veterans Administration.

Attendees will receive valuable Social Security information and
updates for 2008, where to find free social security planning
resource tools, 2008 Medicare and Part D changes. Learn about
expedited military disability claims, a long-range financial update
for the SS Administration, valuable practice tools for defining
eligible military service, available retirement, disability, medical,
in-home care and dependent benefits and important info on how to
navigate through the Veteran's administration.

The January 8th speakers are attorneys Wendy Hartmann, Diane Abbitt
and Fay Blix.

Plan on learning about new laws concerning domestic partnerships, the
changes and proposed issues that affect elderly couples over 62 and
same sex partners, 2007 California tax law changes affecting
registered domestic partners (RDPs), community property and family
law rules impacting RDPs, estate and trust planning considerations,
legal issues facing unregistered relationships, tools to help
identify competency problems with clients, how to address them with
clients and Medi-Cal eligibility and estate recovery rule updates for
California.

The last thing we need you to do is to complete your registration
today so that you can take advantage of the discounted price for
these seminars. Member prices for the Symposium are available only to
CalCPA members. You can register one of three ways:

* Online registration at www.calcpa.org/oclb
* E-mail seminars@... to obtain a sign-up
flyer and either:
mail with a check payable to CalCPA and
send to Kirby Wealth Management
OR
fax with credit card info to:(714) 203-8901

Please do not hesitate to e-mail me at
seminars@... or call me at (714) 544-1844 if I
can be of any help. Registration questions should be directed to
Wendee at Jim Kirby's office (714) 203-8900.

We look forward to your participation at this very special event.
Your attendance and support is always greatly appreciated.
