Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can see here: http://www.tbns.net/lebanon2/human-buttons.htm
For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I am forwarding this e-mail received from one of my technology clients yesterday. I heard about this on the news this morning. It takes theft to a new level in an environment that appears safe.
The suggestion on the news was to jiggle the atm card slot to ensure that it has not been rigged like the pictures below.

This is IMPORTANT to look out for! Bank ATM's Converted to Steal IDs of Bank Customers A team of organized criminals are installing equipment on legitimate bank ATM's in at least 2 regions to steal both the ATM card number and the PIN. The team sits nearby in a car receiving the information transmitted wirelessly over weekends and evenings from equipment they install on the front of the ATM (see photos). If you see an attachment like this, do not use the ATM and report it immediately to the bank using the 800 number or phone on the front of the ATM. The equipment used to capture your ATM card number and PIN are cleverly disguised to look like normal ATM equipment. A "skimmer" is mounted to the front of the normal ATM card slot that reads the ATM card number and transmits it to the criminals sitting in a nearby car. At the same time, a wireless camera is disguised to look like a leaflet holder and is mounted in a position to view ATM PIN entries. The thieves copy the cards and use the PIN numbers to withdraw thousands from many accounts in a very short time directly from the bank ATM.

The PIN reading camera being installed on the ATM is housed in an innocent looking leaflet enclosure.

Thank you to everyone who attended last weeks Eldercare

she will discuss the updates on Medicare Part D

PJ's Abbey in Orange on September 14th.
The earlybird price for Non-CPA's and CPA members is $30
through Sept 7th. Regular price is $35.

recovery which should be of significant importance to you and your
clients.
His presentation will also discuss future medi-cal trends,
incorporate the effect of the Schiavo case on the elderlaw field &
advanced health care directives.
Dennis handles estate planning, special needs trusts and Medi-cal
representation as well as other areas of elder advocacy which
promises for another excellent meeting.

David Solie, author of "How to Say It to Seniors: Closing the
Communication Gap with Our Elders" at our July 13th lunch meeting at
the DoubleTree Hotel on MacArthur Blvd. across from the Hutton Centre
in Santa Ana.
Everyone attending will receive a copy of David's Book!
THIS IS A MOVING & INSPIRING presentation for all audiences. It has
led to dramatic and heartfelt changes for countless attendees on both
a personal and professional level. Discussing the critical and
unappreciated development tasks of the elderly, the presentation
brings clarity and compassion to the monumental psychological mission
of our oldest citizens. Once the tasks are identified, the unique
language or "code" of this development stage is explored. Practical
examples for using this powerful concept in everyday life are
reviewed. Attendees will be able to implement these insights and
strategies with older family members or clients for the predictable
dilemmas of aging.
For more than 20 years Mr. Solie has been a popular and entertaining
speaker and a featured presenter at the 2004 AICPA ElderCare
Conference, Pepperdine University, The Million Dollar Round Table
(MDRT), The International Forum, The Association for Advanced Life
Underwriters (AALU), The Portland Estate Planning Council, The
Washington State Estate Planning Council, The Western Regional
Planned Giving Conference, The California CPA Conference and The
Dallas Estate Planning Council.
David Solie is a graduate of the University of Washington, the
University of Manitoba, and the University of Colorado Medical
School. He is a licensed Physicians Assistant with an advanced degree
in clinical medicine. Following four years in private practice as a
clinician in family medicine, he entered the life insurance industry
in 1983 as a medical specialist representing impaired risk clients.
Since his transition from clinical medicine to insurance medicine, he
has augmented his professional degrees with extensive training in the
areas of cardiology, oncology, and geriatrics.
Mr. Solie shows how a simple but powerful change in communication
style can reduce verbal conflicts with aging parents. This is an eye
opening look at the unique psychology of the final phase of life,
something every adult needs to know.
We encourage everyone attending to invite a guest, associate, partner
or client to this event. All attendees will receive a complimentary
copy of Mr. Solie's book, "How to Say It to Seniors" at the
presentation. Attendance is limited so register early!
