Robert - this is a great point that you brought up - I would like to market a higher level crowd for the reasons you have mentioned - However, it seems that "everyone" keeps saying I won't be able to sell products like that at Albrook. Our price range is pretty reasonable - about $3-$24 - although I do beleive we should be selling most at higher prices.. However, who can say at the moment becasue we aren't selling much of anything!
I love the fashion show idea. I am not sure I can get it together and apprived for Albrook before Christmas. However, I would also like to look into the teenage clubs. I just asked my students (I am a professor at a university) so they are making me a list! I will check them out. It may be easier to do a fashion show at the clubs rather than at Albrook - simply becasue getting approved at Albrook may be an issue.

Hello! Thanks for the quick reply. It's in Albrook - we are selling maekup and accessories for girls.....should be teenage girls and little girls but we started out all wrong. I think there are several problems - one big one is that we haven't done any advertising. The other is that when we first starting buying stuff, we bought stuff we thought was cool or pretty... It was more for women that teenagers! So we have a mixture of products - not totally for our market which we are slowly trying to change. I don't want to advertise too much becasue our market should be teenage girls and little girls and our product doesn't really reflect that too much. Our price range was $3.50 - $24. However, we just lowered all the prices to see if that will at least help us move the product. The kiosk next to us is doing great!! And we aren't selling much of anything...

Greetings,

I am searching for a good purebred sire and a half-dozen 7/8+ does to help my
father-in-law start a herd in the hills around Puerto Armuelles. Does anyone
know anyone that has an established herd in Panama where I might buy these
animals? I prefer contacts in Chiriqui, but am willing to consider other
provinces in the country.

Thanks

Gerald

The first Saturday of the month is when the very social group of Canadian &
Panamanian Friendship Club called PanaCan (some think it means Panamanians
can...) meets for lunch and/or drinks.

This Saturday at 1 pm to whenever (last month it went until 8 pm with lots of
beers and food and talking).

Don Blas restaurant/bar on Calle Uruguay at Calle 49.

Don Blas has cheap bottles of Panamanian beers and a variety of very good food
at modest prices. The corvina prepared 3 different ways with either rice &
beans or fries and salad is a good deal because they serve a double portion of
fish for only $8.50. You can get meat, chicken, seafood, and large prawns at
good prices with large portions.

Free Entrance, just pay for whatever you eat or drink.

All are Welcome! You don't have to be a Canadian to attend. It is very
informal and everyone is friendly. A good way to meet new friends and to talk
to local expats about life in Panama.

Ages vary so it is not a young or an old group. 25 people is the norm for most
of these meetings.

Joseph Dziver is our host and he is a professor at Florida State University's
Panama campus and is of Polish descent but raised in Canada.

Drop in this saturday afternoon and enjoy cheap drinks, good food and fun
people.

INNOVATIVE VENDING MACHINES FOR LATIN AMERICA

My client has the exclusive license from the manufacturing company to install
their ultra modern & innovative vending machines across Latin America.

Not only do these machines sell newspapers and magazine, they have Digital
advertising ads running across the front.

$250,000 investment for purchasing machines and installing them in Panama can
bring you large returns on your investment.

I have a P&L report in excel which I can e-mail you along with the URL link of
the manufacturer so you can see what they look like and learn about the
manufacturer.

The $250,000 investment can be secured by the first 10 vending machines brought
into Panama.

2,000 machines across Latin America is what my client envisions which would
bring you enormous profits from your $250,000 investment.

One of the machines is being tested in the Bogota airport and they are reporting
excellent sales.

The tax incentives speak for having your business in panama. There is no income tax if the money is earned outside of panama. I would guess its cheaper to open a business in Panama, and if you have dual citizenship, you dont have to jump all the red tape that forigners would have to jump opening a business in panama.

should set up this business in Panama (I am a panamanian citizen) or

I am in the process of meeting with an american lawyer to discuss the

the benefits of creating a business in Panama. Any ideas or thoughts?

who is your client-type? what specifically is your expertise as consultant? obviously the client pool is larger in the USA, and probably has potential for greater and deeper pockets for a consultant fees.

but an argument can possibly be made for less competition and a more fun working environment,,,   insufficient data for more  Smile emoticon

I also consult for both sides, putting together potential compatible businesses, making intro's etc.

I have 2 ways to profitably invest in Panama.

1. Buy a Profitable, Caribbean Resort in Bocas del Toro Panama

The Buccaneer Resort is located on 7.5 acreas of Caribbean-front land
in one of the most popular tourist areas worldwide today. Located on
Isla Carenero, Panama, the resort is a turnkey business which features:

Private white sand beach and native-style design with full amenities.
Suites, bungalows, cabanas, restaurant & bar, private dock.
8 years of proven profitability.
For sale by owner.
Fractional ownership program and marketers in place to generate $6-$15
million.
Access to diving, swimming, snorkeling, dolphin watching, deep sea
fishing, Bastimentos National Water Park, native Indian villages and more.
Fully trained staff.

Photos and financials are available upon request.

Price: $1,600,000
2. Malibu Pacific beachfront property

Titled, 1000 square meter lot on Malibu Beach in Gorgona, close to
Coronado, Panama's most famous private getaway community. The property
has an unblocked view of the Pacific, a 20 meter white sand beach, has
been fully landscaped and fenced in the "Palm Beach" style, and has a
new gazebo to compliment the design. The property also features an
underground grass maintenance system with sprinklers, a buried
500-gallon tank with chlorine filters to keep the grass green year
round. It is already connected to the city water system.

This land has a high appreciation potential since it is Pacific
beachfront, it is private and secure. Gorgona is also the site of a
major resort currently under development and two condo towers are
being built a few lots away. Both increase resell/appreciation value
later.

HANDYMAN COMPANY IN PANAMA

I often get requests for a handyman to make repairs, do remodeling,
installation, decorations, and other small jobs that every house or
apartment owner needs. Expats find it difficult to locate reliable,
reasonably priced, competent handymen in Panama who will show up as
scheduled. English speaking handymen is another problem finding in
Panama.

I found a company that meets all of these needs.

HUSBANDS FOR RENT (No, not for that type of work!!)

EXPAT REFERRALS: This company has served many well-known English
speaking expats who can provide good references.

24 HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICES (Costs a little more, but worth it)

SERVICES they provide include Installation, Maintenance, and Repairs
of the following areas:

Masonry/Bricklayer
Small Construction projects
Water connection - IDAAN certified (Panama Water Company)
Electrical
Welding & Ironwork
Gas installations (Fire Department Certified Technicians)
Plumbing
Air Conditioning installation, maintenance & repairs
Roof installation & leak repairs
Carpentry
Painting
Drywall/Gypsum installation & repairs
Electrical appliances
Furniture making & repairs (fine woods)
Kitchen remodeling
Drivers
House Cleaning
Computer & PC network
Shopping
Translations (English to/from Spanish)
Baby Sitting (No installation or repairs provided, but their wives
can watch your children)

DISPATCHER takes your call in English, finds out what you need, and
sends a qualified worker to visit where your repairs or installation
is required to make an estimate. Not all workers speak English.
However, the worker will call the Dispatcher to explain what is
needed and how much it will cost and the Dispatcher will explain it
to you in English.

EQUIPMENT and SPARE PARTS will be invoiced by the store with no
surcharges or added costs.

PRICES: Here are some examples of their typical prices for standard
work.

A/C: The price for the installation of a new 1Ton (12,000 BTU) Air
conditioning unit may vary from $80 to $120 USD. It may be a bit
more ($20 USD) in the case of the need of an electrical 220V work to
handle the connection.

GAS WATER HEATER: The installation is around $60 - $80 US

TOILET: The price to Unclog a Toilet: IS less than $40 if there is no
need to use the electrical iron cord or no need to remove the toilet
from the base.

LEAKS: The price to fix a leak on a bathroom or kitchen sink could
vary from $15 to $35 USD if there is no need to break the wall.

NURSING, TUTORING & BABY SITTING: charges by hour, minimum 4 hours.
Packages with discount available on daily, weekly or monthly services
scheduled.
