RUNG (Rochester Unemployed Networking Group) consists of currently unemployed, underemployed, and recently re-employed professionals in the Rochester, NY area. (NOTE: Rochester, NY is in upstate New York, about 350 miles from New York City - not a commutable distance!)

The purpose of this e-mail group is to facilitate networking and the exchange of information amongst members to assist the unemployed and underemployed members in their job search, regardless of their targeted job fields.

RUNG was originally put together as an offshoot of the Unemployed Resources Network (URN), a network and support group based in the Rochester, NY area that now meets once a month, on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. URN has existed since 1993. URN meetings are facilitated by representatives of Rochester Works! and are free and open to the community, but you must be a registered member of RochesterWorks! to attend. To join RochesterWorks, visit our office and meet with an advisor one on one. The process will take about 30-45 minutes.

Please do not confuse RUNG with URN. While individuals may be a part of both groups, they are completely separate and distinct entities. If you are in the job market I urge you to join both.
