owned and operated by the Rocky Mountain Mining and Railway Museum of
Denver, Colorado. The Blue Goose excursion train travels rails that were
put down in 1887, traveling over Butcher Hill in Yreka then down through
the scenic Shasta Valley with majestic Mt. Shasta dominating the vista,
crossing the Shasta River and continuing to the old cattle town of
Montague, California. The total distance traveled is approximately 7
miles one way and takes approximately 1 hour to arrive.
