Whalom Park, in Lunenburg, MA, the playground of Central New England since 1893, is in danger of being lost forever. The Park closed at the end of the 2000 season and was put up for sale. However, there is a viable and immediate solution to save Whalom Park - the Bowen family, who owned controlling interest in the Park from 1935 until the late 1990s, is leading a group of private investors attempting to purchase and preserve Whalom as a classic amusement park. The Bowens need your help to support their effort to save the park! Please visit www.savewhalompark.com to find out more about the park and what you can do to help preserve this historical treasure. The Milwaukee Road began operating over the parallel NP branch between those two locations. ````Weyerhaeuser named this new operation the Chehalis Western. It was an ICC-regulated common-carrier railroad, a condition of the purchase of the line from the Milwaukee Road, and also due to the CW operating over the Milwaukee Road from Chehalis to Western Junction.
