Ann Arbor, MI - Once noted as "the finest station between Buffalo and Chicago", the majestic Michigan Central Depot deserves that commendation now more than ever as the Gandy Dancer. Michigan - Mountain Town Station - http://www.restaurant.com/mts/
Mt. Pleasant, MI - In 1995 partners saw potential in a historic Mt. Pleasant Railroad Depot, thus coming up with the idea to create a brewing company and steak house around the theme of a "Mountain Town Station". The floor, walls and rafters in the center portion of the station are original, although they are covered with new materials. The northern most telegraph office projection towards the track is the original, the south two are copies. The overhang, roof pitch and knee braces under the eaves all reflect the old Ann Arbor Railroad heritage. Mt. Pleasant's Depot never looked this good. The restaurant boasts a different environment form the depot days with air-conditioned, comfortable surroundings, and attentive service.

Pennsylvania - DiSalvo's Station Restaurant - http://www.disalvosrestaurant.com/
Latrobe, PA - History abounds in the architecture of DiSalvo's Station. Once through the tunnel, you enter the expansive atrium (formerly the train yard) where the cobblestone floor, ornate 10-foot limestone fountain, and abundant greenery give you the feeling of dining in a courtyard in old-town Italy. The area's high ceilings and overall size are demonstrated by the fact that a full-size railroad dining car is dwarfed by the room's expansiveness.

``DiSalvo's Station has a number of other individually unique "nooks and crannies" where one can indulge in fine dining, all accented with original, antique railroad memorabilia: the main dining room (the original concourse area), the adjacent tap room (formerly the ticket and luggage area), the Latrobe Room, or the Railway Express Office. Like the menu, choices abound among many distinct dining environments.

Pennsylvania - Lackawanna Station Hotel - http://www.radisson.com/scrantonpa
Built in 1908 and widely considered one of the most beautiful railroad terminals in the East, this breathtaking Neo-Classical structure is listed with the U.S. National Registrar of Historic Places.

Today, as The Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, this landmark has been restored to a level of beauty, opulence and service reminiscent of legendary world-class hotels. The crowning achievement was the revitalization of The Grand Lobby, which incorporated the dramatically ornamented mosaic tile floor, the barrel vaulted Tiffany stained-glass ceiling, the rare Sienna marble walls and the unique faience tile murals that surround the Grand Lobby.

Pennsylvania - Tarentum Station Restaurant - http://tarentumstation.com/index.html
People lunching or dining at the Tarentum Station Restaurant don't talk in hushed voices. There is a hearty conviviality in the air, very much like the jolliness that must have prevailed during the train station's heyday.````Maybe it has to do with the fact that the trains still zoom by, traveling up and down the Allegheny River, just a few feet away from the restaurant. So you tend to speak up when you are asking for more rolls or telling your favorite story. You don't ever worry about laughing too loudly and you notice that long after the train is but a distant whistle, chugging its way through Creighton or Natrona, diners are still energized somehow by the spirit of the thing.

Pennsylvania - The Station Inn - http://www.stationinnpa.com/

From The Inn's large front porch you will see eastbounds completing their climb to the Gallitzin Tunnels. The Yard Office Saloon, downstairs at The Inn, serves hot meals, sandwiches, drinks, and take out food. The Yard Office's original Men's Bar looks today much as it did in 1904 when it opened. Its ornate ceiling, tile floor and mirrored cherry backbar are a delight to the eye.

Lake Geneva, WI - End of the Line offers a great place to vacation in a caboose. Dave and Pat Hanley, long time Lake Geneva residents thought of the idea of a caboose motel after purchasing a caboose and transforming it into a guesthouse. They purchased several more cars and placed them along the old Chicago & Northwestern tracks leading into Lake Geneva. Each caboose was completely stripped inside and remodeled with new plumbing, heating and electricity. While the motel started with fifteen "rooms", there are now forty-three cabooses on the property. Some of the cars have been joined to form suites.
