The Sr. Director of Staffing & Workforce Planning will be responsible for
providing leadership to and direct the company’s (1) staffing services,
including: recruitment, staffing, and exit management, and (2) workforce
planning, including: the process used to identify the skills critical to a
company’s operation and how those needs match up against those of the existing
workforce.
* Create the strategic direction and oversee the daily operations of the
Recruiting organization (including SunGard and contractors as needed) regarding
all recruiting, sourcing, selection processes & methodologies, staffing
(professionals, contingent and college interns, co-ops and graduates).
* Own and ensure consistency and regulatory compliance in the deployment of the
exit processes (including the Reduction-in- Force process).
* Utilize and apply supply chain methodology to develop reliable cost-effective
supply of high quality candidates on timely basis.
* Develop team capability to perform search activity.
* Perform hands on recruiting function for Executive level positions across the
company.
* Oversee and manage special recruiting and staffing projects as requested.
* Meet with external vendors, peers, and professional organizations in support
of the company’s recruiting efforts as required.
* Own and deploy (to the HR Business Partner’s)) the workforce planning (WP)
process; consolidate and analyze WP data to understand workforce gaps, trends,
concerns and consult with HRBP’s and SVP HR to develop initiatives to close
talent gaps.
* Provide leadership to utilizing consistent method to forecast staffing needs
across the company.
* Ensure that all recruiting and retention reporting systems meet the needs of
the management team.
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
* Provide managerial leadership and professional development for the entire
team.
* Encourage cross-functional working relationships to enhance the delivery of
the best possible service to internal and external customers.
* Work as part of the senior HR leadership team to proactively identify,
recommend and implement strategic and operational enhancements in order to
improve efficiency and effectiveness of the company.
* Develop, implement and maintain a diversity recruiting strategy that will
continually focus and enhance SunGard’s diversity hiring and employee mix
appropriate to the business strategy.
* Maintain and monitor the unit budget, ensuring that all aspects of the
recruiting function are in place while still meeting budgetary requirements.
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements) :
* College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent
work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma
or GED equivalent.
* Minimum of 7years of full life cycle recruiting experience with at least 5
years in a leadership capacity.
* Successful experience with workforce planning and staffing forecasting
* Knowledge of selection methodology
* Successful experience in search process
* Experience in new process and IT system implementation
* Proven ability to consult to and successfully influence senior line
management
* Strong functional leadership for a recruiting organization. Strong team
builder, outstanding leader
* Successful experience in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and
employee retention in a corporate environment
* Thorough understanding of state of the art sourcing and hiring techniques and
strategies, demonstrated best in class recruiting systems, processes, &
procedures.
* Experienced in developing and implementing new staffing processes.
* Knowledge of multiple Applicant Tracking Systems
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong Customer Service Skills
