This group is composed of former staff members, military and civilian, of the Southern Command Network (SCN) or Caribbean Forces Network (CFN) in the former Panama Canal Zone or Panama Canal Area. Its purpose is to provide a forum for SCN alumni to keep in touch with each other and to exchange stories about their SCN experiences. While open and frank discussions are encouraged, argumentative political or religious topics are not allowed, nor are derogatory personal attacks against other list members. Posting inappropriate content, as determined by the group moderator, will result in a 15-day suspension of posting privileges for that member. Posting such content a second time will result in a 30-day suspension. A third violation will result in expulsion from the group – three strikes and you’re out!

Membership is by invitation only: requests for membership should be sent to gerryfry@roadrunner.com. Please make sure you put "SCN" on the subject line or your email may be overlooked. In your request for membership, provide information that addresses, as completely as possible, the following:

(1) Your full name, grade, branch and dates of CFN/SCN service.

(2) What were your CFN/SCN duties?

(3) How did you contribute to CFN/SCN's on air product?

(4) List some names of colleagues you remember during your time at SCN.

(5) Provide a brief description of what you're doing these days.

(6) Tell us where you live -- city and state. You may include your mailing address and telephone number if you wish them to be included in our database.

After your request has been received, the group moderator will issue you an email invitation to join the group. Follow those instructions to gain access, then select how you wish to receive group messages. To avoid later delivery problems, it is best to have group emails delivered to your primary email address, NOT to the Yahoo! email address that is created when you join the group.
