I think they had the same drives. I have 3 units from the original release, 2 44Ts and 1 70T. I never took the shell off of the 70 but the 44s have one motor per truck. The current releases have an Athearn style single motor drive, I believe. I don't know if the two releases share the same wheelsets. Bob
