Gentlemen,
F51 code you need the RPS (Rotory Position Sensor). 3 field calls
and 3 completes on that. Don't go breaking it down and "Cleaning the
oil." Shop returns to the dealer 0 for 6 for the same complaint
without changing the RPS. Unfortunately the RPS seems to be on
National back order. Doing the manual spin test when the LED's light
up does not rule out having a bad RPS. Hard learned experience on the
first time out.
F50 code. This is my first experience with this one today. They
are very simular in the troubleshooting. Just some troubleshooting
knowledge, learned the hard way. 1.) 30-32 ohms reading on the 3
windings of the motor is okay. (Per tech sheet should be 16 ohms or
resonbly close).(Checked it at the motor and the control board.) Now
to me that tells me the lower wire harness is okay, but per the tech-
line.... SSDD. He was adimate that the lower wire harness needs to be
changed. BTW I checked all the connections before I called. He
recommended that I change out the Lower wire harness first, but as a
back-up I order the latest control board PN W10130544 ....
This was a complete no spin/agitate unit at arrival. The lid
switch checked ok in manual diagnosis. I even played with the lid
during a drain/spin cycle to make sure.
The call ended up as a part order. I will let you know the
outcome. I am going to change the control board first. It should take
two weeks to get a reply if the unit doesn't get exchanged before...
Missing Maytag....
