If you are a frequent traveler along many of Dixie's highways, byways and backroads, then you've probably seen us at one time or another. It might have been the guy selling the Confederate flags and boiled peanuts down at the four-way stop in that little North Georgia town. Or perhaps it was that lady with the handmade jewlry sitting out in front of that old country store in South Alabama. Or maybe it was that salty old codger selling shrimp along the causeway on Tampa Bay. Whatever the case was, these colorful merchants all shared a common way of life; selling their wares alongside a Southern roadway at a little setup where cash was still accepted, in fact, preferred.
