Description

This area is available to share/ask/post info about the Sylvester Manufacturing Company, its products, its people, anything! Especially anything railway related.

Richard Sylvester manufactured all types of simple farm implements, gas lighting fixtures, gasoline engines, boat engines and a whole lot more. By 1914 he obtained a contract to from Canadian Northern Railway for water tower pumping engines, by 1916 he was building engine powered railway work cars. (extract from Antique Gas Engine & Tractor magazine June / July 1978)

Marine plywood or sign board was used on 21-E's. On earlier Sylvesters 4" wide 1/2" hard wood slats were used, usually oak or birch.--Eric Schwandt ... From:
