Hello;
I'm new to TC 2000, and am wondering if there is a way for me to run
my scanning criteria on previous days, for backtesting purposes.
I've discovered the "days ago parameter", and am wondering if there
is a less cumbersome way of doing this, instead of inserting the
date into a personal criteria formula multiple times, for each
historical day I wish to create. Thank-you.

ejr,
Yes thats the formula I was talking about. Do I just copy that
formula when I add a custom indicator?

I thought I would let everybody know I have finally imported my TC2000
settings into TC2005 after resolving the CRC error - thanks to those who
responded with exactly what that was.
Although I tried a "repair install" and a "re-install" of TC2005 as
directed by Worden Tech support, neither worked in that the TC2000
settings could still not be imported into TC2005.
Finally, I completely uninstalled TC2005, making sure all traces were
removed, rebooted and then re-installed TC2005. After this, TC2005
imported all the TC2000 settings in one go with no problems whatsoever.
So for some reason, the initial TC2005 install had become or was corrupt
and had to be completely uninstalled before a correct installation could
be made.

After looking at it again, I now see the error. It's funny how you
can see what you expect to see even after looking at it numerous
times.

There is a canned search/scan called Short Term Oversold (down in the "S"
section of the list) that I use.

That's what I am looking for---a formula for oversold stocks

I've been running the pre-release version and I also assumed it was going out to
the web site every I signed on. To verify this was happening I unplugged my
cable modem connection and I was able to run the 2005. Evidently an internet or
phone connection is not a prerequisite for running the 05 version.

I just received TeleChart 2005 and fortunately for me everything went
fine. It installed fine and it transferred all of my settings without
a hitch.
It signs me into Wordens data base everytime I start the program. I
DO NOT want it to do this. I want to be able to start the program
without it automatically signing me in. Does anybody know how I can
do this, or if it is even possible? I notice that when I try to
disconnect my modem after the program is already running, it tries to
dial out again. It is important to me that I disable it from
automatically dialing out. I need my phone line to be free.

Hi everyone,
I recently watched a Price Headly video and he talks about his
strategy using his acceleration bands. I have the formula, but can't
seem to get it to work right. Has anyone ever heard of the
acceleration bands, and/or know how to use them with TC?
Thanks,
Josh

Hi Christopher,
If your email program is HTML enabled and you are connected to the
Internet when you read your email, the HTML in the email could have your
computer access a URL on the Internet that let's the sender know the
mail has been opened.

When you don't have an account with a business
AND you OPEN an email about a non-existant
account, then you've been Phished!
Or if you have an account with a business but
open an email that wasn't sent by that
company, then you've been Phished!
When you opened that message, the malicious
sender is signaled that your email account is
active. The active email address is posted
on the Internet or (worse) sold to mailing
lists.
If you're lucky, you'll only get a rash of
junk emails (spam).

TW;
In message 8914, your advice is sound IF a member is using
. Windoze XP
. firewalls (hardware and / or software)
. Mozilla / Firefox (browser)
. Spyware detection
. Malware detection
. Virus detection
Or knows where to go for updates and sources.
Many members are aware of computer viruses and virus checkers but
totally clueless to the spyware and malware threats!
(FWIW) I've been hit by at least 3 keyloggers; so, I do not type
important information like name, address, passwords, credit card
numbers, account numbers, or social security numbers directly. Why?
Keylogger files transmit anything that you type on the keyboard to the
spy.
As for protection:
How many members get a live update for their software firewall,
spyware / malware, and virus checkers every day at startup?
How many members have firewall protection, spyware /malware scanners
and virus checkers running throughout the day?
How many members Shut down their computers EVERY night after running a
full spyware / malware scan and a full virus check?

Use the Mozilla browser (same site),Firefox is great for somethings but
downloads and some plug ins are not yet supported yet.
I have avoided many problems by using Mozilla as my primary browser and
email client for years. It will usually crash from malicious code instead of
installing the trojan / worm or virus. Not like those friends that call me
help fix their polluted disabled machines.
The java note is important, enable it as your primary java engine.
However you need only to enable the activex for the install of that
particular software. I would not recommend disabling your firewall at
anytime but allow only the connection to Worden.
It is a good idea when installing any software to disable only temporarily
your antivirus and spyware software because it can cause errors on install.
I am running XPpro on a network and a laptop and TC2005 works on both fine,
imports worked great on one but the other required piecemeal importing to
complete.
If you get a CRC error the download was corrupted, uninstall and re download
the latest version from you link.
TCC has not been affected yet.
Above ALL keep your MS updates current ( new ones in the last two weeks) and
Antivirus software updated. ( New ones from Norton daily this week). Don't
depend on your auto update to push them to you.

In The Prudent Trader newsletter dated 2/27/05 it suggests that to
calculate the VHF, first select the # of periods (28 is suggested),
then select the highest and lowest closing prices for this period and
subtract the lowest from the highest. I think the formula for this is
maxc28-minc28......anyway, the second step is confusing me. It says
to then divide maxc28-minc28 (if that formula is correct) by the sum
of absolute values for 28 periods........."absolute values are
calculated by adding the values of (Close[today]-Close[yesterday])
for 28 periods"....can someone please show me what this formula may
look like? TYVM
