Does anyone know when the last turn to Hornell ran. With the DFT running Thur it probably will not run Friday, I thought the DFT crew might possibly run to Hornell on Friday as I have seen it work that way before.

I took this on my first video adventure in Binghamton on 2/16/1987. A little bit
shaky because I was getting use to the darn camera. The winter cold didn't help
much either, but you get to see quite a variety of motive power.
ENJOY!

OK folks, I posted a short clip of her "testing" on the Tier, now here's the real deal.
Check out, "The Geese are Restless".
Chesapeake & Ohio #614 yells and screams. Kicks and shouts. Rips and tears at the rails of the ex Erie Railroads Southern Tier Line in the summer of 1998, but manages to find a calm cool resting spot for all to catch their breath.

Wonderful to see trains once again, even if they are on hold for an OCS x-tra.
I had raced from work to catch a few photos of the OCS 935 as it cross the tier
headed for Mohawk Yards and a tour of the PAS and the new yards in Mass.
Here was the F's starting to climb the grade at Phelps St.
  http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1786301
After the battery failed and I had to get home (now with only one vehicle), I
stopped at QD to see what was going on. There I found 939, 30T and H1G at the
new offices of NS at QD
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1786295
The orders from above allowed no movement until the 935 was by, here H1G starts
to pull a cut of hoppers from the middle yard heading east...just as it started
to rain
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1786306
but as soon as it started it stopped and the late afternoon sun shown through
the clouds
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1787889
After arriving home, my wife notified the VA had made an appointment for me on
the 6th.
On the way to the va, I stopped to check out the railroad and found 31 and 13T
setting, notice that 13T was a little long and was almost inline with the Dwqarf
signal at BD, just short of the diamond
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1786683
Just about to leave when I heard a train approaching from #5 and low and
behold.... the ugliest engine I have seen in a long time, as this power was
returning after it was wyed
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1786686
Left for the appointment, while I was there the two trains moved and I was
almost ready to head home when I thought I would head up and see what su100 had
for power, but once again I heard a train and here comes BH1 across the diamond,
With the camera not in hand I grabbed a going away shot as they headed for East
BD
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1787886
I hoped to catch them coming off of the new connector and found SU100's power
setting therejust up from McDonalds, then they cut off BH1's power and backed
SU100's onto BH1's train. Here su 100's power eases back onto BH1's train with
their power there
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1787890
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1787888
that ended the day as I had to go to work... just another day

Just curious - when the NS F units head back to their next assignment, which way will they run after their trip to Albany from Binghamton?  Just curious if they may head west on the Tier or if they are returning to Altoona via Harrisburg or whatever?  Anybody know at this time?

Did the order give it as "west direction"? The current of traffic on #2 is east, which may be why it was done. I don't see anything in the rules that specify the order they have to be given, although common sense says it should start ewith Johnson...

Gang:

In Binghamton, New York on Thursday during a visit of the Southern Tier... snooping around the D & H / Canadian  Pacific rail yard and lo and behold.... I come around the corner... and there it is... the no. 7312... a GP 38-2... one of the last loco's CP kept in traditional D and H lighting stripes.

Word has it, it's been working around the Albany area.

I caught it in Binghamton at the head of a CP work train.... with the rear brought up with a caboose.

While I was there... a Norfolk Southern SD-70 slithered thru the yard on it's way to the Southern Tier line.

   Enjoy...

NS train calls ns dispatgher, they have permission to head west. Crew asks how
many cars do they have to pick up, dispatcher tells them 69... WHAT... HOW MANY
is the engineers reply. YTje dispatcher confirms 68, but they have to wait to
pick up DL 4 due to all of the tracks are filled at this time.
Mean while the D&H yards are a bussel with moving their train around.
I have to get out and see this mess.JJ

Unsure how many folks are subscribed to dual lists. But, this topic and succeeding threads were posted to the dandh and NYSW yahoo groups yesterday.

Hopefully they can either get the bridge repaired or replaced.
