I hope to go to Turkey in late March next year, if I gain a six months contract
to teach English, from April to September.Anyhow, I would welcome it if any
members of this group contact me "off list"via my direct E-Mail address and I
hope to meet some members of this group who live in Turkey. Also, I would like
to meet any members from places such as England or Australia, who intend to
travel to Turkey next year. My travel plans in that country are unsure, other
than the fact that I want to ride at least a few lines, and in particular,
"Karma" trains! I have been told that there are a couple of lines that are a bit
risky, but all are well worth traveling on.
I worked on the Victorian Railways and NSW railways from 1967 until 1988. I now
work as a security guard in Brisbane. My main interest is passenger trains. I
like "mixed" freight/passenger trains, DMU's and sleeping car trains but any
passenger trains are fine, as far as I am concerned. My overseas travel has
included the USA Canada Mexico New Zealand Britain and the Philippines. In
Australia, I traveled on many lines during the 1970's, before the serious
decline in branch line services set in.
