TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Dear Members,

I am a biologist and had been worked at Brasília Zoo in Brazil. I am
looking for any information about albatross in captivity.

As is knowed, albatrosses are oceanic birds, very good flyers that
came to land only for breeding reasons or sometimes if they are
injured or near to die. They feed on small crustacea and cephalopoda
found in the ocean. For these reasons I believe that is pretty hard
to keep them in captivity. However, I received some questions last
week concerning this situation (albatross in captivity).

I would much appreciate if you could help on this issue. Do you have
any information about this bird in Zoos? What is your opinion for
keeping albatross in captivity?

I am looking forward to your reply.
Thank you in advance

Carlos
